To put these into context: 1. The first 3 balls of that game were all wickets taken by the bowler... it's hard enough getting 3 wickets, but getting 3 in a row, and then off the first 3 balls in a game is pretty amazing. 2. The Netherlands (who are quite frankly not very good at Cricket in the world rankings) beatEngland (considered one of the top Cricket sides) in a World Cup T20 tournament 3. Jonty Rhodes was probably the most outstanding fielder South Africa ever had, and instead of throwing the ball to the wickets, he took on the batsman with the ball in his hand taking out the wickets. Personally, I think he had better diving throws that his the wickets side-on from halfway out in the field, but this one was a first for it's time, showing that fielding is as important as batting and bowling. 4. Shahid Afridi getting 100 runs off 36 balls. At the time, it was the 2nd fastest 100 of all time. 5. Malinga (the bowler) took 4 wickets in 4 balls. Rememebr at number 1, I said getting 3 in 3 is amazing? well, 4 out of 4 is just mind blowing! 6. Shoaib Akhtar was the 1st person to break the 100mph barrier for bowling. He's not the only one to do it, he was just the 1st recorded. Considering that an average fast bowler sends it up in the 90's breaking 100mph is impressive 7. South Africa vs Australia 2005/6 tour to South Africa. An ODI (50 overs / 300 balls per innings) Australia posted an insane 434 runs, and everyone thought it was over for SA, but someone forgot to tell SA, I guess. They chased down the total for the innings, and still had a ball to spare. This is still the highest scoring ODI ever afaik. 8. AB DeVilliers (another South African) became the quickest batsman to reach 100 runs in a game off just 31 balls. On average, that's almost a boundary every ball. It's just a shame that everyone forgets that Hashim Amla (the other batsman with him) also made more than 100 runs that day 9. Rashid Khan the 18-year old bowler took 7 wickets for just 18 runs in a single game. 10. In the 90's and early 2000's Shane Warne was the best Leg Spinner out there. This video was on his debut in the Ashes against England, nto only that, but his very first delivery ever to an English team. Warne could make a ball turn violently on the pitch, and was just sensational to watch. The white stuff on his bottom lip is sun-block. 11. Muttiah Mrualitharin taking his 800th wicket in what was, I believ, his last international game he played for his country. A massive achievement for any bowler.

"Test" Matches are International matches featuring the National teams of competing countries like England,West Indies, Australia, India, Pakistan, New Zealand and South Africa and a few others...

Ab de villiers score 100 runs from just 31 balls. This is still a record. And 18 year Rahid Khan out 7 batter out of 10. South Africa chase 434 runs(Points) and win. 400+ runs chasing almost never happen in cricket history.

Test Cricket is the pinnacle of Cricket. These matches are scheduled to last for five days. Both teams have the opportunity to bat twice and there is no limit on the number of overs. They play for six hours per day divided into three two hour sessions with breaks for lunch and tea. Ther are four possible results in a Test Match. 1. A win for the team batting last if they get past the target set by the other team. 2. A win for the team that set the target provided they bowl the chasing team out for less than the target. 3. A draw if the chasing team does not reach the target but does not get bowled out no matter how far short they are. 4. A tie if the chasing team is bowled out with the scores level.( There have only been two ties in the history of Test Cricket.) In Test Cricket the batting team can declare its innings closed in order to try and give itself enough time to win the match. That should give you a bit to think about for now.

ODI= 1 day international between 2 international teams with 50 overs each ( 300 balls per team) there's also a few other formats with 20/20 ( 120 balls per team ) usually takes around the same amount of time as an average baseball game and then ofc there's test cricket which can be anything from 3 days to 5 days there's all a newer version called the 100 which is just that 100 balls per team so slightly shorter than 20/20. Average fast ball in cricket is 88mph anything above 95 rare 7 for 18 means he got 7 batsmen out for only 18 runs

Cricket fields are all different depending on the area they have. There is an approximate size but I’ve forgotten what it is. 6 is scored when flown over the boundary, 4 if it touches the ground inside the boundary first. The ball is hard and leather covered but only the wicket keeper wears protection for catching the ball. Batsmen wear leg, hand and face protection. The white on lips is sun protection, they can be out in the sun all day in some matches.

ODI stands for One Day International which also means that that game lasts for a day with each side getting 50 overs (300 balls) to play for.

Test = A 5day game where each team bats and bowls twice. Because it's a test then batsman make test runs, and bowlers get test wickets meaning the batsman they get out. Runs and wickets are registered and allocated to each player. After time it shows their statistics and deems how good of a player they are. Weather batsman or bowler or wicket keeper(stands behind batsman to catch or stump them)

Raising finger by umpire means batman is out. And when ball hit the front leg of batman, he will get out, it means the ball would have hit the stump if his leg wasn't on the way

ODI= 50over game(300 balls bowled by each team) That game you saw with South Africa chasing 438runs(My country) Was amazing because to score 300runs alone is difficult. Australia scored 438 so everyone thought we were gone but we came back and chased those runs down which is the biggest chase in history and massive accomplishment. For bowlers like you saw Malinga got 4 wickets in a row against South Africa. We were supposed to win easily at 205-5 wickets down. So we still had 5 wickets left. Malinga got a hatrick which is very rare to get 3 batsmen out in a row and he ended up getting 4 in a row. Leaving a nail biter with only one wicket left to lose but we still won.

It will be difficult for you to appreciate the game unless you immerse yourself in a match rather than watch snippets. The 4th Test between England and India begins at the Oval tomorrow. It is scheduled to last five days with play starting at 11 and ending around 6pm so you should be able to find it relayed somewhere.

1st clip: Irfan Pathan from India became the first bowler to take a Hat-trick (3 wickets in a row) in the first 3 balls of a match. 2nd clip: Netherlands (a wildcard team) beat England (one of the top teams in the world) 3rd clip: most fielders will throw the ball at the stumps but Jonty Rhodes from South Africa jumped towards the stumps 4th clip: Shahid Afridi from Pakistan scored 100 off 37 balls which was a world record for fastest 100 at the time 5th clip: Lasith Malinga from Sri Lanka took 4 wickets in a row 6th clip: Shoaib Akhtar from Pakistan became the first bowler to reach 100mph/161kph 7th clip: Australia scored a world record (at the time) 434 but South Africa successfully chased the score down and scored 438 as the highest successful run chase in One Day International (ODI) cricket 8th clip: AB de Villiers from South Africa scored 100 off 31 balls to break Shahid Afridi's record. 9th: Rashid Khan from Afghanistan at the age of 18 recorded one of the best bowling performances on record he's now the best T20 bowler in the world 10th clip: Shane Warne's "ball of the century" was the first ball he ever bowled in England and he went on to become Australia's all time leading wicket taker with 708 test match wickets when he retired in 2007.

Football was invented too keep cricketers in form during winter. Both games are played on the same size fields. All football was played by amateurs until the late 1960s I think. It was mostly played only in Victoria There used to be only 12 clubs (VFL) new south wales were more soccer and rugby fans.

Three wickets in three balls (in the same game) by a bowler is known as a 'hat trick'. If you take 2 at the end of a game and one with your first ball in the next game it does NOT count as a hat trick. The term has been adopted into many sports now; 3 goals by one player in football for instance. In this video Lasith Malinga of Sri Lanka with his unique bowling action took 4 in 4 balls. Nick Knight of England was the batsman who faced the fastest ball ever bowled. He just nudged it off his hip and didn't notice anything special at the time.
