Had the British invented the word "jaguar" you would be correct, but they didn't. The jaguar is a large cat native to South and Central America, and its English name is derived from the Tupi-Guarani word "yaguara". It's odd that the British pronounce the "u" in "jaguar" as a separate syllable when the natives who invented the word do not.

Fascinating as that is, the English invented the English language and Anglicized words to make them English. Jaguar is a brand name, with their WORLD Head Quarters for Jaguar Cars in Coventry ENGLAND. Believe me, with my CV7 postcode, we pronounce it JAG-U-AR.

Following on from what you say, this makes The BBC more inclined to be Independent. A word most Britons appear not to associate with The BBC, no ! They ( the British Public ) would rather gather their `independent` views and knowledge from the likes of GB News !

@@matsv201 Thank God! If you remember when Top Gear had a smaller budget (factual or was it documentaries can't remember) it was genuinely funny because of their incompetence and political incorrectness. Then, because of its success the BBC moved it to an 'entertainment' show and gave it a bigger budget. As a consequence things started to become 'forced' to get a laugh and when down hill thereafter it culminated in the fisty cuffs that we all know about.

You really need to react to more Top Gear. Always remember, we love to insult our friends. The better the insult, the better the friend. Top Gear was one of the most internationally successful shows the BBC ever made (except for America, since they really did not understand it) - and it was the trinity of Clarkson, Hammond and May that made it so. Irreverent humour, grown up children having fun, outrageous stunts and the entire world to play in. Clarkson made fun of everything - including himself very notably. Nothing was too serious and everything could be mocked. Car manufactures often hated Top Gear (BBC so no advertising) and they all gave their very honest, and very frank opinions. If they liked a car, you could take that to the bank.

Just for context, the last time America was on the winning side of a war was WWII in 1945, and that was them jumping into a war at the final hours. Despite either sticking it’s nose into, or in fact starting every single was since, it’s a zero success rate. Which, when you consider they have an 842 billion dollar defence budget, is absolutely disgraceful

Top Gear is hosted by the BBC which doesn't have ads. Also Ryan Reynolds is Canadian, not American

When this episode was on TV the presenters didn't have to worry about sponsers getting upset because it was on the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) and the BBC don't have any adverts.

turning right on a red light is a good law, IF there's no pedestrians. That's why it would be a stupid law in Europe.

1:30 It is dangerous. Pedestrians could be run over by cars driving through a red light. It looks a lot like a legal way to run over people. Does the US also have the rule that if you run over a pedestrian, you as a driver are responsible exept when it was not your fault? I have heard that is not the case and that would mean it sort of is a legal way for mansloughter.😅

Fun fact. While us lost in the Vietnam war... surprcingly so... so did China. One would belive that if one side lost, the other side won. Nopp. China also lost

China, America, Laos, Cambodia, the Japanese and the French. The Vietnamese were pretty much constantly at war from the mid 30s right into the 1980s

@@BulldogMack700rs Well yes, but the funny bit about China was that it was more or less the same war they lossed as USA lossed. What was a colonial war between Russia/China and French/USA become a war between Vietnam and ... pretty much everyone else. I´m not sure to say that Japan lossed... or they lost the war. but they lost to USA, not really to vietnam. Its like saying that nazi germany lossed to denmark.

@@matsv201 I didn't say the Japanese lost to them or in fact anyone did, I merely stated that they were at war for much longer than people give them credit for. Unfortunately in this day and age if there isn't a movie about it most people don't know these things happened.

@@BulldogMack700rs i wouldn't call it much of a war. Japan invaded. Ocupied, then left. Where they nice... no. Wad it a active conflict zone. Also no

Is it just me or is the difference between the volume of Ryan and the video quite big? I keep having to adjust my volume to not have Ryan's voice pound my eardrums and being able to hear what's being said in the video.

America is currently just a big car park, be better as an American Ocean, lol, would gain a great passage between the Atlantic and the Pacific in exchange for a few million parking bays, it's like when you replace on-street parking with a cycling network - everyone wins!
