Reacting To My Roots

Reacting To My Roots

Күн бұрын

In this video I react to the Flower of Scotland which happens to be the unofficial Scottish National Anthem. I absolutely loved hearing the bagpipes start and then the crowd started singing what appeared to be some very powerful words.
It was beautiful to see the Scottish people being so patriotic, with faces painted with the flag of Scotland and even the kids knowing the anthem. It was nice to watch as everyone sang the Flower of Scotland at the top of their lungs.
This was an awesome anthem that showed me a glimpse of the pride the Scottish people have toward their nation. I look forward to checking out other videos like this moving forward.
Thanks for watching. If you enjoyed this reaction please give this video a thumbs up, share your thoughts in the comments and click the subscribe button to follow my journey to learn about my British and Irish ancestry.

Flower Of Scotland is a song that proves the old Scottish proverb of "forgive your enemy, but remember the bastards name" We will leave the past behind us where it belongs, but we will stand up and fight if needed hence the motto of Scotland Nemo Me Impune Lacessit which means "no one attacks me with impunity"(or in modern parlance "Fuck About and Find Out😂) thankfully with the odd bawbag being an exception we Scots get on with everyone.

I am Zambian, and the flower of Scotland----which I just recently this year came to know of, has become my favourite. Every time I listen to it I am so touched. More so, the parts * we will leave the past behind us where it belongs* and also where it says *that stood against him, proud Edward's army and sent him homeward to think again* .....such a diplomatic reaction to an enemy. After knowing this Anthem, I like Scotland even more now.
@GS-tj9uf
@GS-tj9uf 2 ай бұрын
People added the lyrics "against who?" after each "that stood against him", and either "f*ck off!" or "b*stard!" following "Proud Edward's army". I guess that's the only "national anthem" (is a song from the Seventies from the scottish folk duo "The Corries") that "addresses" another nation like that (but if you look up history you'll find that they have good reasons to do that! 😜)
