Conner Sullivan besides listening to Peter Fox, I recommend just visiting as many cities (like Marburg or Freiburg) and volksfeste etc as possible. I guess most Festivals are already sold out but there are plenty of small city festivals, like fairies or Erntedankfeste. You might also come and visit the saarland, the smallest and most underrated federal state of Germany lol, we have beautiful Badeseen and great barbecue traditions ;) Just my opinion here :)
