Yes it's sarcastic. It was a response to how after the Hurricane Katrina in the US, when New Orleans was devastated, christians groups there kept try to blame the hurricane on homosexuality.

This comedy group is called Grotesco, they're really funny. Eurovision 2009 was hosted by Russia, so in Melodifestivalen (that's Sweden's selection show for Eurovision) they did a really funny interval act, a parody, joking with a lot of sterotypes. As people have said before; It is indeed satire, making fun of the way some religious groups try to blame "the homosexuals" for practically everything. Grotesco was a group who made many different comedy skits and songs and some of them are still active on their own today, for example the man portraying the reverend is called Henrik Dorsin and did a christmas album a few years ago with one of the songs being titled "Tomten är kommunist" (Santa is a communist, there's a video with english subtitles on youtube if you want to check it out) This song is actually really popular among the queer community in Sweden as well as a lot of straight millennials, it's seen for the satire that it is and that it's making fun of the insane conclusions some people leap to. Most people in my friend group know the lyrics and it's always played at least once, often several times, at parties I've been to and it makes everyone sing along lol - A lesbian from Sweden :)

If I'm not incorrect this is mostly because swedish citizens, ethnic ones has been against Church more and more even since 90s. And Church taxes and such. Non Believing country for most part (ethnic swedes) and we believe in our own powers more than to rely on some superstition being. And ye we in this, which is long ago, we make fun of some religion texts of our church. Keep in mind Sweden among other Scandinavian countries is the leading on Equal rights, as HBTHQ and such.

Ya' - this is funny as hell - and also my gay friends agree, as they understand the obious satire. Cool that you get the Swedish humour - that far from everyone understands/ appreciates. It often relies on statire, and also a great portion of "self irony", making jokes on the expense of oneself, rather than someone else (well, not sure about this particular case, though ;-)) ) - that many missenterpret as some kind of "collective expression of national low self esteem", but it's actually quite the contrary...

If you haven't seen it, you should watch "Knäckebrödsdansen" or the Hard bread dance that was in a Swedish Talent show. Just so you know.
