English is a Germanic language but it would be inaccurate to say the Germans "invented" it- not least for the fact Germany as a unified nation did not exist at that time. Try not to confuse a language family- Germanic- with the Germans proper. Also, football was banned by kings in England by various Plantagenet monarchs because 1) it was VERY violent! and 2) it distracted young men from their archery practice {I myself am a user of the English longbow}. Lastly, Norman French came to England via the Norman invasion with William the Conqueror in 1066.

Frrench was the official language but it wasnt spoken by the common people. William the Conqueror came over from France in 1066 so all the royals and nobles that came with him also spoke French. The tradition carried on but over the next couple hundred years even the nobles started speaking English so eventually English became the official language again (although it had changed quite a bit and now incorporated a lot of French words as well).

Her existing power is to the extent Parliament chooses to give her . The Monarch can be voted out as it were . Pakistan , India , Sri Lanka , South Africa and many many others have all " voted out " the Monarch . The monarchy exists since more people agree with having one than are against it . The Monarch has 3 well known rights and/ or duties that is regularly exercised . She has the right To advise , warn and be consulted . I think she may also command meetings between politicians though I haven't heard of this being used for a while .

A lot of things in the UK, such as why London is the capital are down to time immemorial, they've been that way for so long they just are. London was founded as Londinium by the Romans not long after Emperor Claudius invaded in AD 43, but originally the capital city of the new Roman province was Camulodunum, known as Colchester today. But after the city was destroyed along with Verulanium (St Albans) by Boadiccea the capital was moved to Londinium, and it remained an important city forever after, with the capital of Wessex (the West Saxons) being moved from Winchester to London after the city was captured back from the Vikings. From there it became the English capital and then the British one. It wasn't planned out like Washington DC, it just ended up happening. If it's not broke, don't fix it.

Then in 1066 William Duke of Normany conquered the English/saxons but French was only spoken by him and his nobles but the common people spoke old English but if your where dealing with the nobles or councils meetings or law was all done in French I believe. However, UK temperatures feel 5 - 10C / 10 - 20F hotter than they are due to the UK's high humidity. Further to that, all houses in every country in Northern Europe... Germany, etc. etc. are always built to retain heat. The cost to retro-fit buildings with AC is just too high plus energy prices in most of Europe way too high for people to afford. AC will become standard in the UK in the future, however.

You probably know this now, but here’s a brief history on why we went from English-french-English: - Everyone first started speaking old English (Saxon) - Alot of years pasted and Saxon started turning more into Old English. - Overtime French kings started to rule England, either due to them winning in wars against other kings (William the conqueror) or simply got invited to rule if the only other option was basically a dick. - If you were royal or a noble/real high up in society, you’d speak French and everyone else would be speaking English. - After many many years, kings and nobility realised that it was harder to speak to their people (as along of kings didnt know a single bit of English) or/and they wanted to be different from their rivals....France. - So in the end, English was once again the main language.

Most monarchies today are constitutional monarchies. The monarch as a head of state is more of a security system. No person will have the amount of power of a president. I understand and respect that your views are different, but I really wish you would look more into modern monarchies before you judge them to harshly since you’re thoughts are based on your experience. How you choose your president is quite confusing to me. You’re choosing the people who are choosing your president and they can lose the popular vote and still win. And the fact you only have two political parties meaning compromises between different parties is not usually necessary for important decisions. The politicians does also never act like judges like the case against Trump earlier this year. If the proof shows you’re guilty you are there’s no political agenda. I truly feel like I’m more likely to be heard here because the parties have to make compromises so smaller parties can end up having a big impact.
