My nephew signed for Leeds Utd at 15 he was payed around £25000 for 2 years! The money was ridiculous but that was back when Leeds were giving money to anyone! ALSO a player at Leeds went to negotiate a new contract- his agent wanted £7000 a week, the opening offer was £18000 a week that was Leeds United in the early 2000’s

I agree with you. If I had 1.5 million, I'm living off of that for the rest of my life, rather than being silly and buying death traps on four wheels. I'd buy a basic detached house. Then I'd split it into 50 lump sums (say 25K) and not go over each of those sums of money each year. I wouldn't be rich, far from it. But I wouldn't have to worry about debt over small things.

Yes, stupidly expensive trinkets never impress me. Buying art, sponsoring music or education, etc, or those putting money into community projects are people I admire far more (like Ryan Reynolds with Wrecsam Football or Marcus Rashford supporting free school lunches). I bought a knock-off watch at a bazar in Casablanca during a school trip in 1962. It cost me the equivalent of 25 cents. It lasted me over 25 yrs.!!

Most of them have sizeable property portfolios and equitable investments, lots of players get on the payroll of their old clubs too as ‘ambassadors’ - £200k+ a year for a week or two of appointments, as well as the players who are in coaching and management. Media is a big payer, if you aren’t a pundit or commentator, a few panel show appearances and a reality show can bank roll you for a couple of years if you are smart. You can also sell some of the dumb shit you bought when you were on 400k(+bonuses+brand association) a week

It's insane, not just how much footballers get paid, but sports stars in general, get paid to kick/throw/bat a ball around. But then, where should the money go they generate? Certainly not to the owners either. I know people don't like the idea of taxes and money going to the government, but think of all the good that could be done with all that money with a RESPONSIBLE government. One exception to the rule, the guy who helped his village. Unfortunately, these people are far from the norm. But in general, the world doesn't need billionaires.

Rolex are a very good investment and can be passed down from generation to generation as they dont run on batteries but have a system where moving your wrist charges the rolex. As a watch investor / collector I would highly recommend them as an investment. Hate you break it to you but that Casio will probably not even last another 5 years aha. Audemars Piguet, And Richard Millie are some of the highest returning investments I have ever made apart from crypto.

The vast majority of Premier League footballers are a little more sensible with their money but there are that small minority that are massively disconnected from the reality of the real world. What I find amazing is a fair few are now getting their houses robbed & they don’t seem to have any form of security to protect themselves, even a simple security/guard dog that is trained to protect when required would cost peanuts in the grand scheme of things yet they are losing millions of pounds worth of jewellery & collectibles without any real fight being put up. First thing I’d be doing if I had anywhere near that sort of money is getting myself a protection dog (or two).
