german "ch" is final boss of pronouncement for english speaker
@insu_na
@insu_na 6 ай бұрын
Worst part is that they *can* pronounce it, and even do so occasionally, they just can't do it on command, because they forget. It's like Germans with the "th" sound. Many who didn't grow up with it making a fuss about not being able to pronounce it, because they either pronounce it as "s" or as "f", when all they really have to do is pronounce an S, but lispelnd. Everyone knows how to do that, but they can't put 2 and 2 together...

10:00 "Bares für Rares" is a German TV show where a group of dealers auctions off partly historical old goods or things that are no longer needed. Some of the items are very precious, like the necklace. The show is very popular. This video is about ambiguity in a sexual sense. Dealer Susanne: At least the best is necklace 44. I prefer to have it a bit longer. Cutting it off is always possible, putting it on is always difficult. First male dealer: Susanne prefers it a bit longer. Body language: Susanne grins, the men start laughing mischievously. Dealer Susanne: Oh, the boys! (Laughs mischievously to herself) I've laughed a lot too. Depending on what job you are training for, it can take up to 3,5 years. This also relates to one of your last videos, where you didn't get why Werner calls his boss "Meister"(master). There is "apprentice", "journeyman" and "master" of a craft. To become a journeyman, most people go through a 3-3,5 year training phase and have to pass a 2-part test at the end of it. To become a master of your craft, you will have to attend a master-school program. This can also be up to 3 years long, depending if you go full time or partial. Some crafts insist that you have to be a journeyman for 3-5 years before attending master-school, but that is not the case for every craft. Apprentices in Germany get paid a bunch less, compared to journeymen. For example hairdresser apprentices get about 550-790 bucks. It depends in which year of your training you are. A bricklayer-apprentice will start at about 900 bucks and will get payed about 1500 in his/her last year of training.

1=eins or ein, that's slang and shortening words. It is actually einer, but we can write 1er, vier/vierer = 4 - 4er That way we can save the word seat on top of that. 2er seat is what? Now you understand, don't you! So when we talk about seats we just say 1er, 2er, 4er...

@@frankmitchell3594 Nah, that would be Erster, Zweiter und Vierter, which is not at all what that means. You can be Erster in a race winning the medal, but there is no Erster seat ever anywhere in Germany.

I think the Artikel one, has to do with the double meaning of "Artikel" . The campain itself means "no commercials-no products" as in Artikel=product .....but alas, its posted on the site of the "Bild -Zeitung" -- the best selling "newspaper" that no one reads....,so "Artikel" here also means "news article"😂😂

1:00 They make sometimes jokes with sound effects for radio plays. Many years before, a company for sound effects made a best off CD and promoted it as background to fool people. So you claim on telephone, you missed your train or plane, you have to return tomorrow or you claim, that you are on your way to the job and there is traffic jam, because you can't honestly say, you woke up late. The little joke worked fine, it was discussed, but the main application is, to add these noises to radio plays or when you have a video without sound effects.

4:30 "Ausbildung" is the common type of vocational training in Germany. It's a dual System where you are at school and at a company at the same time. You either work 3 days and are in school 2 days or you have another type where you work 2 weeks and then are 1 week in school. The wage is usually pretty low, between 5-8€ per hour, far below the minimum wage but well you are also not a fully trained employee so it makes sense but that's the meme.

I'm in France right now and for some reason, watching you react to German memes now made me feel somewhat at home. Finally something I understand! 😭 Don't get me wrong, I love everything here (except for the food and the drivers), but after spending time in a foreign city, trying to blend in with the society and figure out how life works over here, I'm just so extremely stressed out.

Wasn't fahrenheit supposed to be 0 when the sea freezes and 100 was supposed to be regular body temperature? And then something went wrong when trying to standardise it because neither are very exact points to fixate. Celsius would be kinda difficult to fixate as well, if it wasn't for kelvin and all the other physics rules to define it. I mean air pressure isn't that stable even at sea-level. Freezing and boiling point changes with air pressure and water is the densest around +4C 🙄

So the funny thing to me is that Degree Celcius has the freezing point of water at 0°C, the boiling point of water at 100°C and 1°C is just set by the difference between the two. With F 0°C was just set as the minimum temperature some guy was able too reach with a mixture of salt, water and ice. That just entirely explains why it just doesnt make any sense to use it

6:46 „Immer wieder lustig, wenn ein Angelsachse versucht ‚Panzerbüchse‘ auszusprechen …. PÄÄNZERBUUUCHSE“ … (translate to: „always funny, when an Anglo-Saxon (English native) try’s to spell (German word with Umlauts) ‚Panzerbüchse‘ …. (German pronunciation of the English speaker) PÄNZERBUUUCHSE“ The REAL life joke here is: Anglo-Saxon DO pronounce the AA in panzer almost perfect IF they were written with German ÄÄ (note the Umlaut) , when they just spell the German word Panzerbüchse just in English … soo Anglo-Saxon CAN spell German Ä (note Umlaut) .. in fact all English A sounds more like German Ä😂 The second part „Büchse“ … they mess up and pronounce this word, as if it spelled WITHOUT an Umlaut. U instead of Ü😂 Most English speakers seem to COMPLETE IGNORE the dots over letters and their different spelling in German.

Ausbildung is like vocational schooling. You go to the school where you learn your theory (usually takes from 2 to 3.5 years and you go to school 1-2 times a week). Rest of the week you are actually working as an apprentice in your occupation. And you get certain, regulated by law salary.

The first meme just makes fun about the several ambient noises that are available for relaxing: There is noise in every color, white, pink, blue, brown, red... You can hear falling rain, waterfalls, wind blowing through trees, birds singing for hours etc. So why not some "ambient construction site noise" too? And think of all the ASMR videos for young people...

Fahrenheit is not random. He actually took the coldest temperature he could chemically create, a mix almost no one on the world will ever encounter in their live, and slapped 0° onto that. Later on, Celsius was created to make sense for everyday use. 0 = water free, 100 = water boil. Everyone can now easily understand temperature. Kelvin build on that more instinctive knowledge and just shifted the values to make it useful for sience. No one wants to use formulas where you have 4 times temperatures and each one is calculated with +273,15 before further calculation (since behaviour is based on total energy, which would be the lowest temperature ever possible in the universe by our current knowledge)

The first one alludes to the constant and omnipresent construction sites in Germany. Like, seriously, you have at least a 50% chance that wherever you are, you'll be subjected to construction noise during the day. Downside of living in a super-densely populated country. That also has a second layer: If you have ADHD, construction noise or similar noises, like rain or wind noises actually help you focus. They keep your brain busy just enough that it doesn't have the capacity to run in mental circles like a squirrel on cocaine (normal state of things for us ADHD people), but not enough to keep you from doing actual mental work. Yes it sounds weird, but it works.
