The reason most tents get left behind at music festivals are due to the owner of the tents being totally fucked up and out there nut to the point that they can't find where they set their tent up

Been to Leeds fest multiple times, the correct answer is - most people are lazy selfish arseholes and they'd rather leave their tent for someone else to deal with than spend 15 minutes taking it down and packing it away.

It was the mound in Marble Arch. They built this big grass covered mound they thought people would like to pay a fortune to climb to the top and have a view over oxford street. It was such a waste of money and had to open it up for free in the end. There were resignations over it.

I have to say we don't have original insults, we just throw out every swear word we know in a sentence
@EaterOfCheeseАй бұрын
I'd say English people are pretty inventive when it comes to how polite/subtle some of our insults are, to the point that non-English people (mostly Americans, but also I see western Europeans talk about it) don't actually realise they've been insulted/mildly mocked due to how subtle it is. Also, some of our slang is pretty funny. The Scots have some pretty creative insults/slang too, imo. Can't say I'm too familiar with Welsh insults, but based solely off of their funny comedians, I'd imagine they're quite funny too. But yeah, as a collective, we do swear a huge amount 😂
@EaterOfCheeseАй бұрын
Oh, and there are some very, very funny and/or creative English football chants, albeit the most creative ones tend to be tailored for the player/club/supporters being sung about.

They do make me laugh some of the ones in this series of compilations, they are so British! Also it's not unusual (before 2020 at least) to have a couple of late night food places near the bars and clubs at turn out time in city/large town centre when people are still varying degrees of drunk from happily to barely consciously, and are in search of kebabs, burgers, greasy chips, etc. So you'll find the ones that open until 4 or 5am or whatever and they are often (In my experience anyway, could be a time and place thing idk) a strange combination of overly harsh fluorescent strip lighting and everything easy to clean, but full of drunk hungry people and drunk people eating, most still in party mode, sometimes getting into fighty mode, and all the time with dance music blaring out. Always felt like a surreal ending to a night out!

In Edinburgh, there was a fish a chip shop next to the night clubs called Picanties, it genuinely had a DJ and we all just danced like raving lunatics. They also used to take photos of everyone (Consensual of course) and pin them to the wall. It was the peak of my life. Toilet and dance floor downstairs which were hidden from police. I will never ever forget it. They sold alcohol aswell. It was an amazing wee bonus to the 'end' of your evening.

My son earned a tidy little sum doing the clean up at various festivals one year. He brought back some good tents, one hadn't even been unpacked. He said 3000 tents went to landfill. They couldn't be repurposed because many of them were cheap rubbish and the cost to clean them etc was too great. All you youngsters should have a think of that before you start blaming the older people for the state of the world.
