Remember when Not the Nine O'Clock News used to mock them for supposedly being old-fashioned and not funny anymore. I like NTNON as well but they got that badly wrong, the Two Ronnies are still going strong years after both of them are sadly no longer with us!

You know Four Ronnies Friday is now a 'thing' all around the planet, right? Hope that feels good - knowing you're spreading a smile all around the world...and doing it twice on Fridays! Sterotypes can be fun (or they used to be back a few decades ago) and hopefully all nations can see some truth in what's said about them...right, gotta go as here in Wales it's time to eat some leeks, catch a dragon, play some rugby and have a sing-song before I go and cuddle up to a sheep for a night of fun.

Paul Hogan was a rigger on the Sydney Harbour bridge. One day, a pram got away from a mother, heading to to water, and Hoges was on the spot and saved the baby. He was interviewed by a guy called Mike Willisee (sp), and Mike loved Hoges's humour, and had him on his show, A Current Affair a few times. The network decided to give Hoges a 1 hour show. It worked, so he did a few series of The Paul Hogan Show.

Morning to you Squirrel. In Australia, they eat some bugs, though I don't think flies are one of them. If you get time, look up I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. Please bear in mind, if you're squeamish, they eat some animals penis's, eyeballs, 2000 year old eggs (supposed to be a delicacy) & all sorts of things that could make you feel very sick, just by watching. Definitely not a children's program either.

I've been to America & Australia and the latter is a mix between the English & American; the Australian police are issued with revolvers but they also drive on the left. Australia is also really really racist. It's also far too far to travel so they're far enough anyway that very little Australian culture makes it back to the proper English speaking nations. If you mix a Welsh/British accent with Australia for three months and bring them back, people think they're from South Africa. Which is weird, but true. If an Australian gives you sunscreen advice - take it. Even the school uniforms include wide brimmed hats. They're not for show.

Abo is short for aborigine, a native Australian.
@allenwilliams13063 жыл бұрын
While Aborigine (capital letter) means people in Australia from the earliest times, in the first place, a native Australian is anyone born in Australia, Abo or not, and, secondly, aborigine (no capital) is applied to people anywhere in the world, there from the earliest times. The word is from Latin ab origine (from the start).
@micko111543 жыл бұрын
'Abo' is considered a derogatory term by Aboriginal people in Australia. They prefer the term 'blackfella' or Koori, Murri etc.
@replevideo60963 жыл бұрын
@@allenwilliams1306. Usage of the word native may vary according to where you live, but in my part of the world it is applied to the original inhabitants. I note that is also the case in America where they are always referred to as native Americans. Also I was taught Latin at school and was well aware of the meaning of aborigine, literally - from original. It seems the only difference between me and you is the English language. lol.
