The guy with the go pro is a train spotter. I've seen some of his other videos now and then. He just really loves trains and the go pro catches his moments of pure joy at seeing rare trains. The funny camera angle somehow just adds to the joy. The Elizabeth line is fairly new so maybe he was trying to record footage of it and coincidentally bumped into William and Catherine as I vaguely remember this being an unexpected visit to the new line... yup looked it up, then did it as part of the events leading up to the Coronation last year.

That was Prince William & Kate Middleton on the Elizabeth Line. It is London's newest rail line (runs 73 miles) going from Abbey Wood (SE London) & Shenfield in Essex, then through the city, cutting through central London from East to West, until ending up in Reading, Berkshire or Heathrow Airport. Both of them travelled on it in May 2023.... I guess that guy wanted to meet them. 😂😂😂 EDIT: I forgot to mention they did get off at Tottenham Court Road station then walked to Soho and visited a pub....

By the way, the expenses of the Royal family are not paid from taxation.

Technically they sort of are, but they're paid at a proportion of Treasury funds based on the income of Crown Properties... so usually the income of those estates is entirely funding the Sovreign Grant. What get's strange is that this would just be funded directly by the Crown Estates, but Civil List (the previous way the Crown was paid, and still the way Civil Servents are paid) was put in place because after the 'Glorious Revolution' it was deemed in appropriate for the Monarch to raise money from the Crown Estate and that they would be paid a stipend by the Government instead. So the Crown Estate gives a bunch of money to the HM Treasury, and the treasury gives them tax money back. But, significantly, a lot less than they put in to the treasury. The expenses for their guard and any costs for 'Royal Ceremonies' and/or visits to Governmental departments are entirely funded by taxes. The Sovereign Grant does not cover these expenses.

The tiktoks relating to having no money for the NHS vs royal events is accidental misinformation at best, but many people know its a lie but peddle it anyway. The royal family puts hundreds of millions of pounds into the economy every year, directly and indirectly, pretty much every public service needs more investment and a better government.

So public services like the NHS are actually being subsidized a small amount by the royal family. The government is quite clearly the issue in this country, and the more people try to blame other things, the less the government is blamed.
