I was a member of the same golf club as Ronnie Corbett a few years ago, and sometimes being at the same table over lunch, it was impossible to listen to him talk about any subject without laughing. He was just that naturally funny, and it was a sad day when he died.

Growing up in London in the 1970's a great many of my friends were Jewish. The humour they had was something special and this sketch really sums it up. The Ronnies are masters of the art and deliver well in every format. This is a fantastic little sketch but I thought the ending was a little bit weak. I still use yiddish phrases learned fifty years ago and often put yiddish words into conversation. Thanks for putting this on the channel. Enjoy!!!

This sketch always comes close to home for me. In a previous occupation I sold insurance and a man by the name of Abrahams contacted me to set up life assurance to cover his mortgage. All very straightforward. About three years later his circumstances changed and he paid off his mortgage. He then put in a mis-sale complaint over the life assurance because he hadn't died! That really was his reasoning. The claim failed.

Evening Lt. Squirrel. Again, one of the best things about the 2 Ronnies. You go into a sketch worried that somehow these 2 masters are going to finally sink to "that level". " minutes later we are all laughing at how bigoted everyone is & the stupidity of it all.

Hi Squirrel I was lucky to see Ronnie Corbett in cabaret and he mentioned this routine. They got some complaints,but not many. I'm sure today they would get a lot more in this P.C. time. Some of my faves of the Ronnies,are there songs,they are classics and are a bit Riskey. I've only found you online and you've got good taste. Cheers. 🤓

As way of something a little different, you might want to check out HEROES OF COMEDY:RONNIE BARKER it's here in three parts. It has interviews with people that worked with him, clips ( not just 2 Ronnies ) from his shows, some you've shown some you haven't. Also shows him in a 1960s Avengers episode - even that is typical Ronnie doing a parody of 'Blofeld' A must for all fans. Also him receiving his BAFTA is a video that will choke you up.

That BAFTA award speech showed what a humble person Ronnie B was. Some people make out Ronnie C was a minor player riding on Ronnie B's coat tails in The Two Ronnie's series.. The affection and respect Ronnie B has forvRonnie C comes shining through.

Absolutely ~ Ronnie C was a great comedian in his own right who became an actor. He was brilliant in Sorry - it wouldn't have run for 8 series otherwise. Whereas Ronnie B was a comedy actor who became a writer as well. They both complemented each other perfectly. As they weren't essentially a double act it's hard to split them. I suppose Ronnie B had the edge simply because he wrote a lot of his own material much like Eric Sykes, another of my comedy heroes. But as for Ronnie C hanging on for the ride is a load of tosh as he was a star in his own right. Thanks to KZbin these two will be immortal and live forever. People are laughing at something that's 40-50 years old depending on whether it's 70s or 80s. They will still be laughing 100 years from now!!

There are workarounds to paying many taxes, such as running red diesel in a road-going vehicle or failing to declare income to the Revenue. If you choose to consume live TV in the UK you are legally obliged/compelled to pay for a licence but it's largely left to the home occupier to self-declare. That doesn't mean that the TV licence isn't a tax.

@Squirrel. Shocked at how much insurance Americans pay and the medical bills. One of my family member in the US suffered a mild heart attack and stayed in hospital for 5 days. His bill was a whopping $92,000. He is a janitor on minimum wage. Lucky he was advised to take a premium insurance which covered him but was still required to pay $6,600 plus percentage of the medication cost. I can't work out why the majority of Americans are so against socialised health care. I guess, politics, money, .....

Try Les Dawson, another great British comedian from the 70's/80's. Sadly I was a young lad then and only got the tailend of the careers of all those great comedians before alternative comedy ( the alternative being that it's only funny to schoolboys ) ruined British comedy.
