5:24 this bit killed me when I watched it the first time. Suzie has taught Rachel that stick-on nipple covers are known as "pasties". Rachel pronounces it like "Cornish pasties" (beef, potato, turnip, onion in pastry, rhymes with "last-y") instead of "pasties", like paste-y, as they're glued/pasted on. Such a jarring mental image... nipples covered by Cornish pasties!

@gemma38773 жыл бұрын
@@BP-kx2ig I don't know why I called them turnips to be honest. Was trying to make it more easily understood but probably did the opposite. Here's what Wikipedia calls swedes: "rutabaga or swede is a root vegetable, a form of Brassica napus. Other names include Swedish turnip, neep and turnip." Apparently they're called turnips in Cornish English, but my Cornish English is highly diluted. It blew my mind to learn that a swede is a cross between a (white) turnip and a cabbage.

8 out of 10 cats was a comedy panel show where the questions were all about statistics. It aired on Channel 4 who's flagship daytime quiz-show was Countdown. For Channel 4's anniversary they mixed up some of their shows - the regular comedians of 8 out of 10 Cats filmed a special episode of Countdown which was so popular it became a regular series. To answer your question about Joe Wilkinson - he was "fired" from his job as "Rachel's assistant" on the show during the first series by Jimmy - a fictional set up to allow him to disrupt every episode of the second series as an anarchic presence in the middle of each episode. His skits often include his "half brother Fabio" - a male model who appears in his underwear to demonstrate the "prize" each week.

The daytime show Countdown is very sterile, aimed at the elderly. Rachel does the numbers & letters and Susie sits in the dictionary corner to verify the words. In the numbers game, you have to reach the big total using (any or all|) the six random numbers below. The word game is self-explanatory- make the biggest word you can from the nine random letters. 8 Out of 10 Cats is a comedy panel show where anything goes. Some genius at Channel 4 (which produces both shows) decided to mix the two shows together. As you see, it's so funny and must watch :)

EOOTCDC (thanks brett domino trio!) also shows a lot more to Rachel and Susie as, as mentioned before, the comedic parts are wanted and its not sterile at all... all the filth and dirt that is not in the original countdown, is very welcome here

I do not know about other places, but the technical workshops where they make road signs in Sweden are available to people if you need some sign that conforms to legal requirements, usually this is for if you need a "private road" sign, a house number or have permission to place signs directing to an event or something (the signs people often make out of wood or card stock are not legal to put up near the road). Those are pretty expensive however, so if you only need it for decoration, it is better to order it from some Chinese site.
