It's not just Maya that has something to look forward to with the bus, since that tour will bring her whole class to your home, so depending on where on the route you are, you have to figure out what to serve, and where to seat them all. Will you perhaps even be the starting point or the end point, just under 2 years to find out....

2G is usually the hardest year in STX. keep it up Maya
@imagzz49422 жыл бұрын
I would say that it used to be like that, however now I think it is very indivudual. I would say that about 50% of my class found the 3rd year to be the hardest. I think it comes down to the subjects you chose in 3G as well as how you do with your SRP assignment and how interesting you find it and prepare for it. Personally I found 2G to be the toughest as well, but that was probably because I loved most of our subjects in 3G - 3 of which I picked myself.

Literally the first thing I thought about was the "vogntur", the busride, and then you started talking about it. I'm so old that we did it is a horse-powered wagon. But I think everyone who ever went to gymnasium remembers that day very fondly. (The part of it that they remember, because many of us got very drunk). I still have my hat, and somewhere, my family still have our dad's hat, too. The second year is definitely the hardest, but if you put in the work, that also means that you can really enjoy the social part of the third year, and not only that vogntur. Enjoy!

THe study trip is quite commen in Gymnasium. I went to HTX, In Lyngby actually :), and we voted on where in Europe we wanted to go. We ended up going to Rome for 5 days or something. The trip was for math and physics, so the weeks counting uo to the trip we were focused on an assignment in math that involed calculating and designing The Colusseum, and in physics we needed to calculate what kind of spring(bungee cord) was needed to do a bungee jump inside the St. Peters Church in order to just get dipped into the thing they dip babies in :)

I have binged watch the entire show in preparation. It’s so funny. I also really enjoyed seeing what life was like for people my age during that time. And how casual the violence felt. Things like military men checking the bus was totally normal for them, I couldn’t even imagine that

"Naturgeografi" or Physical Geography is climate, geology, sustainability, the water cycle, where we get our energy from and topics like that. Its basically meant to give the student an understanding of how the world affects our human lifes and society, and ofc also the other way around. Its with out a doubt the most important topic thats taught in the gymnasium.. Said the clearly unbiased physical geography teacher :)
@HannahJ2 жыл бұрын
My son had "Natur og Teknik" which from what I could gather was Geography with some science thrown in and some other bits too. In fact his first was a year ago today.

the religious conflicts in ireland are called "the troubles", however, it was not only about faith but also about the desire to become part of england or break away from it... it was a civil war mixed with a kind of gang war and a religious war.... it can be really hard to see which side is fighting for which goal when delving into the history of it...
@SCGMLB2 жыл бұрын
It’s sad because while the religious differences is what defined the two sides in “the Troubles” the conflict today mostly isn’t about a difference in beliefs anymore. It has simply evolved into a war between two sides and the only reason it continues is because parents teach their children to continue it.

First day of school in was a big thing for me. My dad and I had built my first "big boy bike" together from scrapparts he bought with beers at the local scrapheap. He bought new race handles, pedals and rubber tubes for the tires and some sandpaper and spraypaint. we made it look like a new black and yellow lightning. My very first ride on it was the morning on the first day of school. I was so exited to go there on my bike and show it off to all my new friends. My parents did me good on that day. they managed to make all my insecurities into something exiting. I am 40 now. I still build things from scraps and love to show them off to friends! :D Btw: As others mention. the second year is the hardest. claw through. third year is more self chosen classes/subjects and less boring stuff. And that last ride is a hoot. My advice; take it easy with the alcohol and remember water, it is a long day. I personally don't remember the last third of the ride! -But luckily ppl said I was a hoot! :D

I don't know if it is an american thing, but I have several friends who just got kids during the last 5 years or so and for many of them it is a deliberate decision to never post pictures of their kids online, for two reasons as far as I understand. Firstly, wanting to protect the privacy of their kids and to avoid any awkward people taking the pictures. Secondly because they believe that social media and having a social media presence should be left up to the kids when they get old enough. Of course that is not everyone but out of the friends I have who have kids, the majority never post any pictures and rarely ever any stories of them online. Meanwhile, I never got to ride a truck for graduation, I am now 15 days away from handing in my masters thesis and I still kind of regret that so, do enjoy it! :D I hear it is all kinds of fun and a perfect ending.

My ex and I post pics of our kids on facebook, but we do it in a private group that requires an invite in order to join. So only people we know personally can see them.
@kinuuni2 жыл бұрын
@@camp4600 Yeah, many of my friends have mailing picture groups specifically made for that purpose as well. (I think they choose that rather than facebook as I think facebook still has the rights to your pics no matter how closed off the group is. Also there are probably some grandparents or Gen Z's that don't have/use facebook.)

I think the classes depend on the gymnasium and the line you attend. Like I went to htx and was on the technology, design and business economics. There were two other lines as well. Mathematics line and a biology line. I think since, I left there’s been added more lines. Also I went to Scotland in my second year. We visited a whiskey distillery and a Scottish equivalent to gymnasium.

Pay attention in class, is the best advice I can give. Take good notes. You're gonna need them, especially in math and physics classes. LOTS of equations you have no chance of memorizing. So organize them somewhere you can look up.

Josh! Dont worry about the School class being their thing. Its normal and when you attend university your hours of actual being their is even more smaller than stx and so on. Beginning my 5th semester on monday and my days is like this: monday and thursday 13-16 and wedensday 8:15-11. While tuesday and friday is self studying for assignments, Reading and notes. So dont at all worry about the stx. 😃😂🤭 i dont know why its like that. But it is. Its like the time gets smaller and smaller after folkeskolen 🤔😆

@@TravelinYoung I was curious what subjects are taught in schools in Denmark? In the USA, most of the schools include core subjects such as English, Mathematics, Sciences [Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and sometimes Earth Science], History [US and World], Foreign Language, Economics, Government, and Physical Education. Many high schools also offer additional subjects such as Art, Music [such as Choir, Band, Orchestra], Drama/Theater, Dance, Technical Theater, Family & Consumer Sciences (such as foods, independent living skills, fashion or child development), Industrial Arts (Such as Wood, Metal, or Auto Shop), Career Technical Education (Variety of fields), Computer Technology, Business Careers, Student Government, Speech and Debate, and a variety of others depending on the school.

What comes after the 3rd year of Gymnasium ? Is it University or an equivalent to grad school ? I used to know these things, but it's been awhile :-) Good luck Maya, I so wanted to move to Denmark when I was your age or even your parents age. Heck, I still do, but can't seem to get that accomplished. I'll just have to visit more often.
@chrisbagge31292 жыл бұрын
After 3rd year of Gymnasium there is no more school. You will start on University, if that is the carreer path of choice.
@theicebeardk Жыл бұрын
After Gymnasium (and the other similar educations) you're an adult, gymnasium in particular is designed to give you a very rounded education with a basis in nearly all subjects to a level that is supposed to prepare you (and this is not always successful) enter a higher education program. Like university for example where you have 3 years to get a Bachelors degree or five years to a Masters or to a bit more if you manage to diverge into Ph.d. Many who want to become lawyers, doctors or nurses use the gymnasium as a setting off point (a few engineers as well but they mainly start from a slightly differently "toned" 3 year school with a closer connection to the technical side). But basically if you have a business, technical (HTX) or standard (STX) you are judged by the higher education you want to based on the grades you have in the required courses so for example if you fulfill the math requirement of a natural science education and have the grades for it, then the university will assign you a space provided they have any to spare (that process is also fascinating).
