I no longer live near Canada. My local stores don't make poutine. But1 I have an artesenal cheese maker in my church who makes curds. Good curds. He lives ten minutes straight down the road from me. My son is a chef and he taught me how to make really good gravy. I live in the middle of PA potato country, right near a chip factory. I think I can make my own poutine. Thanks for the encouragement this vid was for me to try this.

If you have gravy and cheese curds, you're in business . If you have fresh french fries, you will have the best poutine . Frozen fries are good and less expensives and save a lot of time,, but nothing beats the taste of a fresh potatoe that has been cleaned, sliced and blanched in the morning . The drawing of the hot tub of gravy with the fries is great. It just needs some little cheese floats. I'm surprised that NY doesn't have more places that have poutine in them since they are so close to Canada. We have lots of places that offer it in New England. One place the next town over has a poutine bar that has 9 add on items of your choice. Lots of diners and restaurants around me have it and they also sell the cheese curds at the local supermarkets if you want to make it at home. I've never tried to make it myself. I just googled it online and these places in Buffalo apparently have it too? Allen Street Poutine Company, Lafayette Brewery Co, Parkside Meadow, Buffalo Riverworks (it's made with tater tots but its still potato).

You know what helps motion sickness? Wearing those Maple Leaf sunglasses. Great video. Definitely eating poutine tonight. Not sure if you know this but Swiss Chalet has poutine with homestyle gravy or the gravy used for dipping. Harvey's and Swiss Chalet are owned by the same company(Recipe Unlimited) so their poutine is similar. Stand alone Swiss Chalets use fresh cut potatoes for their French fries whereas Harvey's use frozen. There is a difference imo. If you thought Harvey's potine was good try Swiss Chalet's version. Remember you must go to a stand alone site. The Swiss Chalets that also serve Harvey's food use the frozen fries. Keep up the great work guys!

What is it with vehicles breaking down on roadtrips? My Dad and I were on our way back from seeing the eclipse in 2017. We'd gone to Oregon to see it and on our way back, we were driving back through Canada, and we had a tire blowout about 20 mins out of Moosejaw. As it happens, it was late afternoon, the tow truck left our vehicle at the Canadian Tire and they had nobody on duty as everyone had gone home on a Friday afternoon. So, we were stuck in Moosejaw for the entire weekend before we could get serviced.
