If you're on pavement most the time, putting aggressive tires on your rig is a stupid idea if you're going to worry about fuel economy. If you truly want want better performance and fuel economy, make your engine breath better by installing a cold air intake and long tube headers and free-flow exhaust. Then put on a good set of high speed highway tires. After all that, the tuner will give you much better gains. I get 26.6 miles per gallon on the highway and 18.8 around town with my 5.0 F-150.

Hi, My question is my 2016 Ford F-150 It comes with 20 " from Factory and I know that for this model XLT come with different Ring sizes. I have to indicate that when I do the Tune? Or by the VIN number the SuperChip Flash Paq knows that I have that sizes of Rims? Thank's

hey Justin, does your shop truck F150 have an after market cold air intake and or cat back exhaust. I'm wondering if you saw the improved MPG with those or with stock air and exhaust.

With another Question: If I Tune my truck to 87 Octane and them want a change to 91 Octane. Do I have to puck back my regular stock settings for do the new tune? or can i go direct to performance and does it and not matter. Thanks

I'm 63 years old. I am a mechanic by practice (its how I was able to put myself through school) and retired. The whole computer-thing is a bit difficult for those of us use to gapping points with matchbook covers. However, you made this really understandable and easy to follow. I have a 2005 Ford Ranger, FX4 Level II with 4.0 V6. It is FANTASTIC in stock tune towing a trailer and my Son's dirt bikes. Never has had great milage but in stock form (which it is) it has great torque. BUT, I live in two states and one has wide open and flat highway and my truck stops running at 100MPH! I changed the tires and so am good to go (past 100), but my truck (what if it was an emergency with my family???) stops me at 99MPH. That is nuts! I grew up with muscle cars. I am happy to run my truck on 91 octane (it runs perfectly on 87) and get the advantages you showed us. But I got to say, for an old muscle car guy (former combat Marine and all American like me), it is just wrong to speed limit a vehicle. It is un-American. So, I am buying one of these gadgets for the speed limiter change and all the good that comes with a 91 Octane tune. The truck is not a daily driver so premium costs are OK by me. Thank You for this great demonstration!

They will have to put the stock tune back in there truck before you buy it from someone or it will be locked to there truck and will not be any good for your truck !

Justin, when you installed the tuner did your outside temperature reading drop? Installed this tuner on my 16 Silverado and everything worked fine besides receiving a message saying drive careful might be ice on the road (thats me paragraphing what it said lol) but it dropped the temp reading down to 32 degrees hence why it said warning ice may be on road however the temp has been steadily rising (I am assuming it is fixing itself) but I read a few forums and people said it has occurred on their GMC's and silverados just wondering what you think.

Hey Nol- that sure is interesting! I did not notice anything out of the ordinary in regards to the thermometer in our F150. Granted we are talking about two completely different make/model trucks here. Hopefully you get it sorted out man! -Justin

they work on a variety of vehicles, you can go on their website and see if it works for your vehicle or any of their other tuners. i got this for my jeep grand cherokee
