Other things is oil separator, window tent, toolbox, floor mats, wheel well liners, programmer too sct makes a more budget friendly one with that’s not touch screen and make good power gains. And one more is mud flaps some don’t like them but I rem them on my 13 F-150 because I have wide wheels and it saves paint to munch and husky makes a kick back for lifted trucks or wonder wheels that looks good and keep from rubbing

Hi, great suggestions. ( I must add that I am new to all this) I just bought 2018 F150, 4WD, 5.OL V8, I would like to change the tires from 275/55/20 to 285/65/20! As you know there is not enough space in the front, you talked about 2.5” leveling kit, I have two questions: 1- is that going to give me enough clearance in the front (top and the sides), 2- what a bout back? There is lots space in the back, do I need to add anything else? Thank you, Nick

I always keep thinking how Ford really turned around the design of the f150 with this facelift. I never thought the front could look good with the odd elongated top and bottom headlights, but these new headlights and grill look great. Man I wish these trucks were mass made in RHD. Imported in small numbers and locally converted to RHD means US trucks are crazy expensive in Australia.

I lost about 1.5 mpg with a leveling kit. It will mess with your aero. The truck has a rake on purpose, and it's not just a preload for weight in the back. The CAI doesn't really do much either, other than a tad bit better throttle response in Normal mode and a cool "whoosh" sound with RPMs. Most worthwhile mods in this lineup are the tonneau cover and the running boards lol.
@geoffreyfaltot1006

Bob saget. Legend. Will not do a leveling kit for that very reason. A company that has built maybe millions of these trucks over the years has them sitting lower in the front for more than just aesthetics. Else they would have pumped them out leveled up. Gas mileage is just 1 reason not to add height to the front. Another big one for me is if you ACTUALLY put heavy things in your truck bed time to time because your bed is sagged and your front has you up blasting off like a rocket.

Hello, you guys produce some great informative videos. Thanks. You mentioned the 2,5" as being the highest you would go because of CV angle concerns. What are your thoughts on the ReadyLifts SST 3.5". You guys have a video on it, some dealers on the US are installing it, while some people have commented that Ford will not honor warranty if you have problems cause by this kit. I have a 2020 F-150 and looking to put 305/55R20 on it with a 0 to -18 offset wheel. (Still trying to figure out what will fit without or minimum trimming). Thanks
@americantrucks
@americantrucks 3 жыл бұрын
I stand by my previous statement- I personally wouldn't go above 2-2.5" without factoring in a 'diff drop'. At 3.5" I can only imagine the horrible angles of the CV's and the accelerated wear that it would no doubt incur. For that tire size (33") you should be able to achieve your desired setup with a 2" level- assuming you stay closer to the 0 offset. -Justin

another good $500 or less would be a drop in bed liner if your truck doesn't already have one. they usually run anywhere from $300-$450 for a drop in and around $375-$500 or so from a spray in bedliner i think. it's been awhile so don't quote me on that fully.

Assuming you don't want to do add larger wheels and tires, does the leveling kit offer any benefits other than cosmetic?
@americantrucks
@americantrucks 4 жыл бұрын
Adding a leveling kit will give you a little more ground clearance up front, but people install them *mainly* to gain extra ground clearance for tires and to undo their factory rake. -Zach

you do not gain any hp with CAI unless you tune the truck. it will not change anything because the factory intake parameters remain the same unless tuned. it is all in everyone's head because the CAI will make the engine sound louder.

I never go on with a bolt on exhaust... only fully welded that's always the way to go you might pay a little bit more but you're going to have exhaust that's going to last you a very long time sometimes the life of the truck

Roush cold air system routes the opening to the grill as to not suck in hot air from the engine compartment I would think that would be even better than the one you’re showing although I don’t know if Roush offers that one to the general public

Most importantly JLT oil separator, that's a most on any direct injection. Motors. I have one on my 2015 V6 mustang and 2017 f150. Every oil change the truck is 3/4 full of oil. So this should be the most important . Saves from carbon build up in your engine and longevity of the vehicle. $139.

Casey Berry yea some ppl concerned bout carbon & gen1 Ecoboost motors but truth is Ford isn't having problems overall esp if you run "full synthetic" motor oil AND tier1 fuels.
@caseyberry7960

@@Davido50 by the time I spend the extra 40-60 on 1 synthetic oil change , the extra on gas for premium per gallon for a month. I've paid for the separator. The life of the vehicle paying 3+a gallons 75-100 syn vs 30-40 regular oil change from ford. I'm money ahead. And I even throw a high grade fuel additive in it every oil. And still money ahead just to empty a little bowl . Cheap or expensive oil or all will go thru pcv valve, maybe more than another.

2018 is Port and Direct, so you dont need the Oil Seperator dont waste your money.. i have 1 and it hasnt filled up more than an inch in the Catch from over 10,000 miles and a year of driving it.. Port Inj will keep ur intake valves clean. If it gives u piece of mind then go for it, but only if you have a 2017 or older should you get one.

@@caseyberry7960 that seperator isnt going to prevent oil sludge build up inside of your valve train.. only the backside of your intake valves.. other then that of course go Synthetic... conventional oil is garbage hence it can barely last even 3,000 miles before the additives break down amd cause metal to metal contact..

Here’s a question. A leveling kit only raises the front of the body. Clearance is from the center of the spindle to the bottom of the tire so you don’t really get higher clearance unless you get bigger tires. Am I correct in my thinking?
@crazykingbob8066
@crazykingbob8066 5 жыл бұрын
To a degree yes, but a shock spacer will raise the chassis, so technically it will give you slightly increased clearance under the front of the truck but doesn't really do much more than looks.

Usually the CAI states if it needs a tune or not. Majority CAI do not need a tune. But with more added bolt ons a tune helps everything work with eachothed
