I was raised on blacktop. I did 50 years doing asphalt construction and started the same way, on a push broom making $1.25 an hour. I loved the work because i was in a different location almost everyday and i could look back after the day was done and say "I built that"... I retired 3 years ago, and enjoyed every day. The crews i worked with became my second family.

agreed 100% start at the bottom and work you’re way up. My father drove a truck for coca cola and worked his way up to sales then sales of new england. i started in the trench and worked up to operator and i just turned 34 no better way to learn 👍🏻👍🏻
