So true! I’m from Europe and English is my first language but I also speak German. When I visited the US, I was asked if I had trees in England and whenever my friend and I would speak German to each other, the people would start addressing us super slowly and treating us like babies. If I love someone who I thought I knew but just confessed about his criminal record like a few days ago then suddenly proposed today, I'd obviously say no *for now* because I want to know him better after realizing that I just barely know him that well. There are also people who are still prioritizing other stuff before they settle like me but that doesn't mean that I wouldn't want to get married to the same person who proposed yet said no to when I still had other stuff to do. Some are just not ready yet but that doesn't mean that they don't love them, it just really isn't the right time for them. Just because they're willing to wait doesn't mean that they are a simp.
