I honestly don't understand what you're trying to say . Or your point. I don't want to start an endless argument but the fact that they were under Spanish rule didn't make them unaware of what was going on in other places (like the independence of the US) . Even if that were true, the American continent was named America soon after its discovery by Europeans so I bet they knew the word América/Americano (America/Americans). What the first comment is saying is that in Spanish exists a specific word to describe the people from the US and in English it doesn't. And that has nothing to do with Latinos Every country has a demonym: France ➙French, Russia➙Russian, Japan➙Japanese... but the English language, vehicular language of the United States of America, doesn't have one. In fact, the Spanish term for US national is directly derived from the name of the country, not the continent: Estados Unidos (de América)/EE UU➙estadounidense United States (of America)/USA➙""""Unitedstatian""" (I know it doesn't exist but that would be more or less the equivalent in English)

The capital of Bolivia is Sucre. Nevertheless, the Congress meets in La Paz.

No. The capital IS SUPPOSED TO BE in Sucre, but they've never moved it. Everything related to politics happen in La Paz. The embassies are there, the president works there, the congress works there. The only thing that's in Sucre is the Supreme Court. But that alone doesnt make Sucre the capital city. Bolivia's Constitution says it ought to move to Sucre, so it's a "de jure" (by law) capital. But La Paz is the capital city "de facto".
