I would like to point out that even in the U.S. you can find yourself carjacked, kidnapped, raped, etc. in certain areas and even in more affluent areas. The suburbs are riddled with drug dealers just like “ghettos”. The only difference is that they aren’t heavily policed because of lower gang activity. Mexico is no different. In NYC in certain areas you will find people selling drugs to any passerby, same thing happens in Puerto Vallarta. The main factors of crime across the board are economic disparity, opportunity, and education.
