Some of those men in Tana actually took part in a channel 4 documentary where they visited the UK and lived with a upper, a middle, and working class family, and finished the show meeting Prince Philip in person at Windsor castle (which they showed Karl). They claimed to preferred living in a working class home as it was most similar to their lives on Tana, and they were completely mystified by homelessness, if someone in their tribe doesn't have a home every man of the tribe builds them one.

I was at the doctors many years ago and read one of the magazine's there while I was waiting, and one story talks about an office party group went bungee jumping, one of the office staff was apparently a cocky, annoying know it all, and he got on everyone's nerves, what ever you had done, he had done bigger and better, you now the type ( a prick of the highest caliber) anyways they set him up, he was giving it the biggen saying he'll jump first, so they strapped him in and when he jumped the instructor shouted no not yet your not strapped in, the guy screamed his head off all the way down, all I can say is that he was wearing a white shirt, but it was brown when he got off the bungee, needless to say the fella never came back to work 🥴

Love your reactions to Karl among other shows. But his point about happiness being "like a cake" (e.g. if you eat nothing but birthday cake for days, the novelty wears off) is obviously true, if not profound, to anyone over the age of 18. If that's all you get in life, then clearly happiness wears off. We need pain for the good times to matter.

Although Karl is framed as an idiot he comes out with some excellent lines at times. I did appreciate his point about happiness. It is a bit like idololising a member of the opposite sex, you are really attracted to them but you see them only occasionally. If you get to live with them you get to know their bad side as well as their good side, and the infatuation wears off.
