Britain has been blessed with many GREAT comedians but for me Lee Evan’s is at the absolute top of that tree. The man tells amazing observational comedy but the timing, mic work and acting that goes with it puts him in his own category.

I distinctly remember it being Lee Evans that started my love borderline obsession with stand up comedy. Live in Scotland was on paramount comedy late one night which I put on randomly and I belly laughed so much to the point that and I nearly vomited & I woke people up upstairs.

I saw Lee Evans in our local club in the early 90's at a talent competition where he came 3rd I think. Its absolutely amazing how far he came. Lovely guy who suffered greatly from depression. Good luck to him in his life now and I hope he's as happy as he made millions of others. 😎👍

Lee Evans is one of the funniest comedians Britain has!! He was good in films too; look for Something About Mary, Fifth Element, and my 2 favourites Mouse Hunt and Freezeframe (this one was a real step down from his quick-fire wit; he played a man falsly accused of murder, this film is so gripping! Its like Robin Williams in the film One Hour Photo - SO different to how we know and love his work!)

I love Lee Evans - most especially when he imitates his wife....it's just priceless! By the way, you should see him when he's offstage because he's so quiet, unassuming, respectful and quite shy. He's an all around great entertainer who manages to cheer all of us up no matter how many times we watch any of his routines. 👍🤣👍

@@Bullet-Tooth-Tony-, both he and Nathan Lane in that film are just hilarious. The character that really steals the entire film for me is the totally psychotic cat that they 'adopt' to get rid of the mouse.....it's completely bonkers especially when the mouse outwits it. 👍🤣👍

Lee Evans was an all time favourite of mine, I've seen him live 3x and I swear, its way harder watching live than watching on TV, you are still processing the last joke before he's onto to his third I highly recommend watching some of his earlier stuff, some of his first 3 shows. He's visibly nervous and he's said in interviews he used his nerves to act daft & strange, and use random material. Some of the random acts he does are just insane. 1994 - Live at Her Majesty's Theatre 1995 - Live From The West End 1996 - Live - Different Planet Tour (My Personal Favourite) 1998 - Live in Scotland 96' has random and bizarre acts throughout, slapstick comedy. Lee Evan's British legend

I was lucky to see Lee live twice - both were small warm up shows, like a test run to see how the audiences reacted to his new work. They were in a very small venue (local church converted to a theatre) and it felt like being in someones living room. Being a wheelchair user I was in the front row and Lee was just a few feet away. I would love for him to come out of retirement but can understand he loves time with his family. Such a sweet and exceedingly intelligent/funny man. Has me in tears everytime I see him 🤣

The first thing i ever saw Lee Evans in here in America was There's Something About Mary, which I highly recommend if you haven't seen it. Great romantic comedy. He was an absolute scene stealer every single time. A little time passes and I see him here and there in movies, and then I found out by accident around 2013 that he was a stand up comedy legend in the UK. I was floored. And i've been hooked on his stuff ever since, especially his music. A one of a kind, unique, multi talented individual. Broke my heart when he retired. It's great that he chose to spend more time with his wife but I often find myself selfishly hoping he will come back someday.

I was lucky enough to go to the Glee Club in Birmingham (UK) for a colleague's birthday back in the early millennium and like most of these nights it's pot-luck who you get - though the quality is always worth it. This night we struck gold as Lee had arranged for a small audience (this guy was filling stadiums) to try out new material. There were no more than 50 of us and we had the best time in years, material that didn''t work he threw the prompt card (yes, he was using cards) into the audience. He'd signed each one and put Lee's Little Get-together on the back. Just brilliant. Si.

Enjoy your reactions you muppet, nice to see an American enjoying the UK comedy scene. Lee has been around since the early 90's. We get a lot of US comedians here in the UK and enjoy them very much too. I think you guys seem to get much less UK comedy than we do of US comedy? Back in the late 80's/90's I remember we got a lot of all those comedy sitcom shows and such over here on tv like Frasier, Rosanne, Home Improvement, 3rd Rock from the sun etc etc. Perhaps our comedy doesn't translate well to most Americans. We love comedians and comedy shows over here and I think we have some great ones! :)
