British Humor = Witty, sarcastic, direct, puns, dry humor, skates very close to the edge. A John Cleese quote: "An Englishmen would rather be told he was a bad lover than he has no sense of humor. This personifies the Brits way at looking at life.

@andrew3482 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't even call him simple. Much of what he says is actually profound thought. He just thinks from a different angle than most people are conditioned to think from...
@jonathanshaw73552 жыл бұрын
He has a lot of common sense but he finds it difficult to process a different point of view. So you end up with a person who see the world very black and white. Edit And when he has an idea for something it’s near impossible to change his mind. That’s when things go sideways.
@scootaymildo10702 жыл бұрын
Doug Stanhope summed him up really well "Karl Pilkington may be the one person I that I have more in common with than any person I've met outside of stand-up comedy. No interests, no hobbies, but pure and simple logic. Like me, heavy on the simple. "
@Scottoest2 жыл бұрын
Karl's not 100% dumb, but not dumb in any sense? Yeah no, lol. Most of his worst (and funniest) stupidity comes from his inability to think abstractly, and his extreme ignorance of most topics. He's a simple man with simple desires, and there's some simple wisdom or truth in some of the things he says. But he also talks metric tons of absolute bollocks.

Just for your info, Karl is from the city of Manchester. I'm from Manchester and yes, Karl is a typical manc. We have what most people would think is a very depressed negative way of looking at things but that's just how we are. It just sounds like that but its not how we think just how we sound. Manc's are very crude and direct with no bullshit, we say it how it is and never dress things up to make them sound better.

Wear and where are phonetically identical. Your vocal cords etc. are in identical positions to produce both words because physically they are the same word. Karl wasn't wrong in this way at least. When you think about it from the point of view of a non-native english speaker, you actually would teach wear and where as the same word initially. No need to split hairs until the new english speaker gains a stronger grasp on the language and the teacher can begin to differientiate words to proper spelling and distinct definitions.

The 'you stink, you shit' is actually 'you stink, you shit?' short for 'have you shit?' which we in England use for a fart, asking someone if they shat, is asking them if they farted. There's a stink in the air, so someone must've farted/shat themselves. So it's good manners to let people know it's not you by making the accusation on someone else. If you're in a supermarket checkout line and you smell shit, it is usual to loudly proclaim, 'oh that stinks' and then pick someone else in the queue and ask 'you shit?'. If you require any other help please feel free to ask, I'm happy to help.
