When he was talking about the queues, he was referring to a British shop thats in the airport. They're always really slow. He stated they have 2 cashiers on unless they're busy, then its 1. That's in WH Smith.

Lee is a national treasure. I love him so much. I was gutted when he retired, but it was a well-deserved retirement. I had the great fortune of seeing him live once, and it was an unforgettable experience. The next morning I felt like I had gone 12 rounds with a heavyweight boxer. My stomach was killing me from all the laughter. He never fails to make me laugh. Such a great observational comedian, and his delivery is so unique and well-refined. Such a hard worker and dedicated to his fans. Guys, thanks for your hard work. I hope you react to more Lee Evans. Much love!

I tried to add a link to a comedy song by Fascinating Aida called Cheap Flights, but it seems to have disappeared. I think you would enjoy it. The same trio does a song called Dogging, which I know you have learned the meaning of, which is also hilarious. I think Jess might actually fall out of her chair listening to that one. 😂 ❤

The queues he's talking about are for WHSmith, basically a chain of shops. Used to be everywhere in the UK, still in most cities and towns and no one knows how they survive. But their travel retail is expanding, even in the USA now. You can buy candy, drinks, books, some electronics. Designed to rip people off who forgot to take something, I'm changing their words a bit there. But yeah it's the main shop you'll see in the UK airports.

He always used to do a mini tour of small venues as a warm up for his stadium tours. I managed to see him locally twice in really small theatres. His line about trying to get a shoe on his head in an emergency had me and my sister in hysterics when we saw it live. I miss him so much and wish he would tour again.

I was at a Lee Evans gig (front row) back in the mid 2000's at quite small venue and one particular thing he said had me uncontrollably crying with laughter to the point where I was gasping for air. He stopped the show and took the piss out of me for 2 minutes but did actually make sure I was ok first 😆 It wasn't even a joke, he was reacting to a random noise in the theatre.

I'm in New Zealand living in the UK and to get home. It's two flights 10: and 12 hours. I remember once at the check-in I was at the end of the queue talking to the other solo traveller to kill time. We got to the desk, can't remember who was served first, but next time I saw him was on the plane in the Middle Isles, jammed between two breastfeeding mothers and their screaming kids -lucky escape for me!!

He’s talking about the queues for WH Smith, which is a long-established shop over here that sells everything from stationery to magazines, books, toys, art material, sandwiches and sweets. They usually have a few in the really big airports, such as those around London (London has five major airports), but there are not really any queues since they introduced self-service checkouts. Queues for the plane are always bad, however, because they invariably usher all passengers into the stairwell before the plane has even landed! Turnaround is tight, as planes go back and forth like buses in Europe. No joke. Security in the UK though is great - and I can say that having flown out of many mainland European airports, which are often horrendous. You generally whizz through security in about five minutes flat here, except during school holidays, I imagine (which we avoid like the plague!).
@AndrejsIvanovs-j3j11 сағат бұрын

I was flying out of Egypt a few years ago and they have their own version of Fast Track. Basically, you pay a local approx. $10 per person and they will push everyone who is in the line out of the way to guide you through like some kind of VIP until you get to security, they then speak and joke with security who just wave you through. It all happened so quickly

To be fair, I think budget airlines is mainly a thing in Europe because we have such a variety of countries on our doorstep. For instance, from the UK, inside 1 to 2.5 hours you can be in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Belgium, Poland, Slovakia, Austria, Czechia etc etc, and it’s only 3.5 hours to the Greek islands, Turkey or Morocco, and 4.5 hours to North Africa (eg Egypt) and the Middle East.

You must remember that Lee is British and we Brits do use swear words to emphasise something. It isn’t swearing to be clever or even funny - it is just something we do. For example…..Nobody is an idiot - they are f***ing idiots, it is normal for many in the UK. Lee is fantastic, I saw him over thirty years ago and I came out of the theatre with jaw ache from laughing so much. His style of comedy is perhaps not unique, but it is pretty rare. One comedian that you may like and is the polar opposite of Lee Evans is Jack Dee - a miserable, hang dog delivery that is very funny. Sadly, we don’t see him with stand up these days as he seems to be doing more acting.

When Lee Evans was talking about the que at the airport he was talking about the well known shop here in the UK called W H SMITH. Which sells newspapers, magazines, books, cards, games, stationery products, sweets, chocolates, sandwiches, crisps, pens, pencils and much more, well they have them in nearly all British airports and in shopping centres, high street shops and on motorway services. He was not talking about queuing to get on to the plane as he did say W H SMITH. 💂♂️🇬🇧🏴🇮🇪

The next thing for you to watch is "Outnumbered". It's a British Comedy TV series starring Hugh Dennis and Claire Skinner with 3 Children. I don't want to spoil it by telling you too much up front. Well worth watching, and there should be plenty for you to comment on. There were about half a dozen series', during which time the kids went from very young children to young adults. Anyway ... just watch it. I'm sure you'll love it.

great reaction to Lee, a n old comedian Tommy Cooper who only had to walk on stage and people fell about laughing, he was a comedian and a brilliant magician who when on stage his tricks all went wrong and he would at the same time be telling jokes, he also appeared in a film The Plank where him and his mate lost the plank and what happened when they tried to trace it so funny just make sure you watch the original film not the later ones.

Lee Evans is very similar to the UK's Norman Wisdom, who was a British comedy star & actor (mainly 1950s-80s) & hes also like the US's Jerry Lewis (mainly 1960's-90's). Lee has the same clown type style & slapstick humour, pulling funny faces, throwing himself about on stage. Hes a modern version of two great classic comedians. Lee is great, followed his career from the start.

On a flight from the UK to Boston we had 2 kids sitting behind us constantly kicking the back of our seats. Keeping telling them to stop didn't work so we looked for their parents and found them sitting 2 rows behind their kids. I reckon they booked the seats like that on prupose. We insisted that one of the parents swapped seats with one of their kids, which they agreed to do after a little persuasion'.

Imagine this:- 3 kids Only one year apart. 1 month, 1 year & 2 years. 2 flights a year to the US & back. 8 -10 hour flights & a 8 - 10 hour drive to my in-laws house in Florida, depending where we land....Orlando, Miami, Atlanta. We fell asleep one time & when we woke up our son Jamie was missing. We found him in first class entertaining people with his posh English accent. No idea where he got that from. I'm cockney & my wife was from Virginia. Bloody exhausting journey.
