Before i start, please note that since last year Turkey is actually officially reffered as Türkiye (as per the Turkish original version) regardless of the language spoken (You can check in your official state websites :) ), but i do not care since this is not official business at all :) Sooooo Supersititions: Bread kissing 3 times and putting to forehead: bread is welcomed as a somewhat "holy" substane as food, actually the "mother of the food" kind of a perspective. Bread also as a 2nd or 3rd meaning refers to "well deserved income thorugh honest work", and as ANOTHER supersitition, income over disputed and/or non-honest work we belive the money will not be benefitial as per the finantial worth due to not being earned honestly, so u may understand the relationship of it being somewhat "holy" :) Cutting nails at night: Very old superstition, actually in the old times the dirty nails can be easily lost in dark or dimmed light supperted rooms during the trimming operation and they can easily rot/grow mold, thus releasing toxic spores to the living quarters. Not laughing too hard: This is fairly over-disputed and "laughed-over" topic of a superstition where it is usually not followed but mocked with especially during jokes (e.g "Hey bro, dont laugh too hard to my joke u ll have bad luck" but the person "bro" usually laughs more ) :) Not eating in/on the bed: Hygenic purposes obviously, believed its a "myth" created fairly recent by some grousome parents who wanted to use the fear of religious/paranormal unknown identities to make the children fear from the process of eating in/on the bed, around 16~18th century Ethnic groups: We are the ONLY muslim majority, NON-ARAB + SECULAR country in the world, like Tunusia, but they are Arabs we are not. Kurds are brothers to us, but they have been unintentionally and unwillingly backed up by a controversial terrorist organisation called PKK (most of the Kurds are against this organisation where they ALSO believe its a bad example of their ethnic identitiy, where PKK just popped out of nowhere claiming they are PROTECTING?? the rights of Kurds, but Kurds never asked for it???) Language: TURKISH... NOT ARABIC... (we are totally FED UP to actually make this distinction) Just because of the religion being Islam and Islam having Arabic as the default language do you think we Turks somehow have to be speaking "Arabic"??, does this also make EVERY Christian majority country in the world Latin speaking?? Now you understand :) Also the Turkish language is completely in a seperate branch according to the most reputable linguists, called "Altai-Ural branch", And Turkish is sharing the ties with Japanese, Korean, and Finnish, Proto-Swedish (still somewhat disputed by some of the linguists) (In addition to the Turkic languages, the language "Sami" which is majorly spoken by the nomads living in the northern regions, of Sweden are very close to Turkish and it is also in the same branch) UNLIKE ARABIC which is in Semitic branch with Persian, Proto-Jewish etc... Religion: Having a very secular approach towards the religion by the gov't, the religion is far less followed by the masses even though %98 of the country is "defacto" muslim thorgh just borning... Just like me, i do not follow the religion to the fullest Update: Worlds oldest heritage site is in Türkiye called "Göbeklitepe" (Belly-shape Hill) established estimated around 10-8k BC... Which is considered as the "hunter-gatherer era"...??? The USA and Europe said that if you do this, there will be consequences, and we said we don't care about the consequences, and after the invasion, the embargo was applied for years. The Greeks tortured the Turks for years, killed them and buried them in mass graves. In other words, we saved the Turkish minority from the murderous Greeks.

thats funny in Poland we call Nazar 27:59 zauroczenie but it can be said in both ways good and bad in good way we say on/ona się zauroczył/ła he/her kinda nazar her/him but in lovely way just he/her liked him/her but in bad way its when someone will look wrong on a child mainly its kinda old way but mostly older people even still belive in that especially when a baby will cry or smth even though baby can have a mood its still nazar lets say i wonder if we got it from turkich people tbh i think we didnt but as he said people from other countries etc have soemthing simillar. And about stepping n shoes in oland its big as well at least where i live tbh its annoying but its common im doing it as well and its kinda like good luck lets say. All those superstitions has Logic behind them actually but ppl of today can’t understand them cuz circumstances has changed. As you see our history goes way back. Lemme explain some of them in the video - Not cutting nails at night. Ppl say that in Turkey cuz back in the day when electricity wasn’t invented yet you might drop those nails to floor and won’t realize you dropped it. - Holding your ear making a kiss sound & knocking wood. The ancient Turks of Siberia were forest ppl and they were heavily influenced by this geography and when they in the woods they hold their ears & knock a tree three times to be protected from evil they believed nature would protect them. & this little ritual lived on to this day and ppl still do it to be protected from evil. For example if you say oh something bad gonna happen they might do that gesture :). 7:17 This guy can't be Turkish. He said that Turkey invaded Cyprus which is false. Turkey was one of the official guarenteers of the island with Greece and UK. When the Greeks started to kill Turks and British in the island, Turkey helped the Turks in the island. It is not invasion. All the Turks know this unless they learn their history only from wrong western sources.

@@faithproduzent5517 Tengrism was the common among Xingnu (aka Asian Hun Dynasty aka the Great Hunnic Empire) which is accepted to be the known origin of both Turkic and Mongolic peoples. Islam didn't even exist as a concept yet. Turks then adopted Shamanism. Even today in all Turkic nations people have traditions and superstitions that contradict Islam as well as predating it. Plus not everyone in Turkey is a Muslim. It's a constructionally secular country where everyone is equal no matter what they believe because it's their private business, not a showing off matter.
