Here in the UK we have our local independent bakeries. Not as many as France, but you can get good bread fairly locally for the most part.

We also have the bread and flour regulations which was developed during WW2, so it contains calcium, iron, Vtiamin B3 and B1. I was a chemist testing the ingredients.

I live in the UK and am within a 5 minute walk of 5 bakeries churning out delicious fresh bread and pastries every day! I haven't eaten a sliced loaf for donkey's years! Even the large supermarkets nearby, Asda, Tesco and Lidl have their own in house bakery! Bread is only the tip of the iceberg ladies...wait till you find out about what they're doing to your sodas, beef, pork, eggs, chicken, fries,....etc.

Frenchman here. Bread basically is four ingredients: flour, yeast, salt and water... and that's it. Dough with sugar is not bread, it's a cake.

America didn't just ruin your bread. It ruined your food piling it with chemicals. It makes our cheap supermarket essentials brand's look organic.

Ladies the UK also has bakeries everywhere, i never buy sliced bread, but its still healthier than American bread, i buy fresh bread everyday, either a stick or tin loaf which the bakery will slice for you. Subway bread and the burger buns had to change their ingredients to sell in the UK.

Interesting that they don’t use it in the UK but still here in the states 🤦🏾♀️

@@xeeandcynreacts funny thing, subway bread is known as confectionary (cakes!), rather than bread.

@@xeeandcynreacts Simple really, the UK takes its citizens health more seriously, than the states.

Even here in Australia we have bakeries "just round the corner". We don't have the corporate greed, we put people first our governments regulate the chemicals based of "proof of safety", in the US you put anything in until someone else proves it's not safe. Then litigation takes years all the while profiteering from people's health, or lack there of.

Panera Bread is still way more better than US supermarket bread. The U.K. Food agency made Subway change its bread ingredients when they found out that they used similar ingredients to that “azocarbamide” stuff. Subway changed the ingredients in the U.K. but they still use it in their bread ingredients to the U.S. 😵💫🤷🏽♀️

Used to baffle me why Americans scoffed at beans on toast... and then I had their bread and their beans and it became clear why

Ladies, look at the difference between the ingredients in the US and Europe, just simple things like the difference between breakfast cereals and tomato ketchup.

There are less Europeans with gluton intolerance, why? Same with milk.

American wheat does have more gluten (and the reasons are grim) but the intolerance within the actual populations appears to be the same

Your food in the USA is disgusting. Over salted oven sweetened and full of chemicals. The way it is produced would not allowed in Europe. I am living in Spain and I go shopping locally in my village thrice a week. Fresh produce every time.
