I'm from the uk myself and love most of them too. The tea is best If you put the teabag in the cup 1st then pour boiling water slowly over it, this allows the tea to brew quicker, and in some cases enough to remove the bag a few seconds after filling the cup, some flavoured tea can be a little weaker so may need bunking in and out of the cup a few times, then with all bags you give it a little squeeze over your cup to retain as much flavour as possible from the bag.
@FromtheHobbitHole5 жыл бұрын
We didn’t know that pouring the hot water over the tea bag causes the tea to brew quicker...how interesting! Thanks for the tips 😊
@MrGazzw5 жыл бұрын
@@FromtheHobbitHoleThat's how I've always done mine and the bag is never in the cup longer than 40 seconds, a little squeeze of the bag against the side of the cup with a spoon can help if the bag puffs up, as this expels the trapped air, to which can also aid in a quicker brew time, just not so hard as to burst the bag open. I personally don't take sugar in tea 🍵 or coffee ☕ but I do milk for normal black teas, this I find doesn't really effect the subtle flavour differences, but flavoured and green tea I don't as they tend to be better without milk, especially green tea 🍵 as it makes it look a little unappealing.

You can always add slightly less boiling water, and then, once brewed, top up with cold water or a couple of ice cubes to quickly cool it to a drinkable temperature. Don't forget that with a standard black tea, most Brits will have added cold milk and/or sugar and stirred vigorously, all of which will lower the temperature somewhat.

Milk doesn’t go in fruit or herbal teas so you were fine. My favourite is Twinings Saint Clements which is orange and lemon. It is named after an English nursery rhyme which talks about London landmarks.
@FromtheHobbitHole5 жыл бұрын
Oh man...that would’ve been bad if we did have milk and put it in that tea! Thanks for letting us know. Which nursery rhyme are you referring to?
@vickytaylor91555 жыл бұрын
It is called oranges and lemons and it talks about the poverty in London at that time and of the different landmarks of the day. The first few lines are “ Oranges and lemons say the bells of Saint Clements. You owe me five farthings say the bells of Saint Martins.When will you pay me says the bells of Old Bailey (these are our high court), when I grow rich say the bells of Shoredich. It has a very grizzly end which I won’t go into but you can look that bit up after you have your baby. Sadly most of our nursery rhymes have a sinister or depressing meaning behind them, such ring a ring of roses a pocket full of posies. This was about the Black Death.
@FromtheHobbitHole5 жыл бұрын
Never heard of the Oranges and Lemons nursery rhyme, but Ring of Roses we have heard of and remember singing as a young child. It’s interesting how nursery rhymes have such a dark story behind them...which we were taught that the reason for that was to teach the young children to be careful of the bad things that can happen in life.

I’ve always left flavoured teabags in the water, it keeps infusing the water that way. I’d only ever put milk in with regular ‘black’ tea leaf tea, although my mother doesn’t even put milk in with black t4a (she calls it welsh tea as a lot of people in wales seem to drink it that way (yep my mum is welsh))
@FromtheHobbitHole4 жыл бұрын
We do like a lot of our teas black. Only certain ones, in our opinion, need a splash of milk. And leaving flavored tea bags in the water really only makes the tea better 😉

I’m really late to your videos but recently become obsessed with them! You probably already know this by now but wanted to tell you that milk only goes into teas such as English breakfast tea or “normal tea”. Herbal teas or green teas are just with water or it will be sort of curdled!! I’d love to send you some of my favourite British snacks! If you haven’t already you need to try a “flump” and a “freddo” for sweets wise. You also need to try “monster munch” and Jacobs “cracker crisps” ❤️❤️❤️
