Of course! Crisp butties are standard... quick snack, comfort food, hangover cure; they hit the spot all round! They have to be made with white bread, nothing too fancy, defeats the purpose. My favourite crisp filling flavours are prawn cocktail (ONLY these for hangover food!), salt & vinegar, and ready salted... especially when paired with grated cheese. Top notch!

The Butlers chocolates are also Irish and made in the Republic of Ireland. We also like combining Cadbury plain Chocolate with Taytos cheese and onion, take a bite of chocolate, wait till it melts in the mouth and then eat a Tayto. There's another Tayto brand up in the North of Ireland/UK but they're not the first or original ones.

Crisp butties are also eaten in England, especially the poorer areas, crisp flavours are probably dependent on the area you live, in west Yorkshire where I grew up it tended to be ready salted, cheese and onion, beefy or smoky bacon. We also have a crisp brand called Seabrooke, there nearly as old as Walker, the butties are as good on normal quare white bread too. Try a fried egg (with the yolk brocken at the start of cooking) on buttered toast with brown sauce, very nice, was one of my father's go to buttie if we didn't have bacon in.

Your heads may explode if you go to France and get real French bread. Be very careful if you have a ham sandwich there. Great bread, great ham and great butter. Crisp sandwiches are amazing

Thanks for the heads up! Never would’ve thought to order a ham sandwich when in France.

@@FromtheHobbitHole you would when you got there. Almost every shop selling sandwiches will offer them. Along with cheese and pate. Opposite model to American sandwiches. Very simple but amazing ingredients

What is that?!?
@emilymua38114 жыл бұрын
From the Hobbit Hole it’s ramen noodles that come in a pot think it’s British then you get some sliced bread and put the noodles inside inside would recommend chicken and mushroom x

How interesting! That would be a fun one to try!!

Substitute a cup noodle you get in the store, it works.

I do not like chocolate and and anything nut related (almonds, peanut butter, etc) so It would proably be a 2 or 3 for me, but I'd give it a 7 in general

You're missing the point of a crisp sandwich by using French bread! You should use 'standard' sliced bread, so the filling provides the 'crunch', NOT the bread crust!
@FromtheHobbitHole4 жыл бұрын
You have a point there. Though, we didn’t feel like the crust of the bread took away from the crunch of the crisps. But, in the future we will revisit this topic and try it with regular bread!

Second vid in. I'm 39yo and I had a cheese and onion sandwich yesterday and thought nothing of it. I refuse to conform to social standards reguarding my age. You only live once

I'm upset cause that isn't even a proper crisp sandwich!! with BAGUETTE?! NO NO NOO! that's just wrong! so I'm sorry guys but you didn't even get the full, proper experience! while I'm sure it is great with baguette, it does look really good! that just isn't how it is traditionally done! haha it should just be 2 pieces of plain white bread so you would have been better just using your own bread, wouldn't have made much difference between the bread over here! but a baquette is just way different! I'm glad you enjoyed it anyway but you gotta try it with normal bread! haha you just appreciate the crunch of the crisps more against the soft bread whereas a baguette is hard and crunchy so you're just getting too much crunch and not experiencing that crunching in to the crisps feel haha

Hey emma, i think you missed the part at the beginning where they explain why i sent them the choice of bread i did and not sliced pan and their sliced bread is alot sweeter than sliced bread here in ireland or uk and it would have been disastrous in my opinion. I do agree with all your points made but the way it happened in the video was most feasible. How long does your sliced pan take to go off? Mine a few days. Those baguettes bought a few weeks prior to sending them.

@@LuvNickynGina4ever lol no I did see that part haha and I'm from Ireland myself, Northern Ireland! So we have the same bread lol but like I said I definitely wouldn't expect you to send normal bread, ofcourse it would go off lol that's why I said they should just use their own, though I must admit I didnt really consider that theirs is sweeter, that is true and completely slipped my mind

It was the best bread that could be used. Our bread in America is much sweater that European bread so the lady who sent us this package sent us the only bread she could find that would last the trip over to us.
