Thankx Mate! I am impressed with you Aussie videos, it is a pity that you could not stay here for you full year. Return soon as this Covid this thing is over please. .......Here in Australia, sprinkles are the long ones and 100s&1000s are the ground ones.....My family makes Fairy Bread with margarine and or butter. They also cut it into squares or long finger like rectangles, This because Australia has food regions like wine does. It depends on what state you are from and what region in that state you are also from, what city or town, what part of that city or town you are from. So some individuals in families make Fairy Bread differently from the rest of their family. Great job at making Fairy Bread and a greater job at emersing yourselves in Aussie food and culture. Your videos are a delight to watch, perhaps because you are such a delightful couple! Fairly bread is often into 4 small triangles, but that is for children's birthday parties. For adults 2 large triangles is a smart way to do it. It is sad that your stay in Australia was cut short. You have so much to offer our country. When things return to normal perhaps you can return and continue your travels. However, in your old age you can tell your children of the Great Australian Toilet Paper crisis of 2020! ( I call it the Great Australian Toilet Paper Embarrassment of 2020) Have a wonderful life! Thank you for your lovely content.

I tend not to use the second method because the 100's and 1000's I buy are the homebrand ones, and they lose their colour when you do it like that. To get the maximal amount of 100's and 1000's, I just dump a massive amount on (so that all the bread is hidden) and then shake it off, using all the ones that fall off for the next piece of fairy bread
@twotravelingkings4 жыл бұрын

Although I too cringed when you ate a toasted attempt fairy last time, I didn’t comment. I had a lot of faith in both of you and knew you would turn it around. Actually by using the long sprinkles last time, you may have equally offended the dutch. Our fairy bread uses the hundreds and thousands (nonpareils), whereas the Dutch use the longer sprinkles in their Hagelslag. They go one step further in that they can also go pure chocolate or have wavy sprinkles. Two things do differ in the US though. White bread in the US generally has about 4 times the sugar levels of Australian white bread (not important with fairy bread, but ruins vegemite). Secondly, the diets of US cows differ to most parts of Europe and Australian leading to less beta-carotene which results in a whiter butter. Not certain of that alters taste though. When the borders open up, hopefully you get to continue what you started. I like most Aussies would love to see more of your wonderful content.

I would make a third video when you get back to Aus! All you need is the cheapest supermarket brand white bread, cheapest butter on the shelf and the cheapest 100's and 1000's (most common brand is the Dollar Sweets ones in a blue bag for $2). This is a dirt cheap kids party snack made one day (no one knows exactly when!) by a desperate mother wanting an extra colourful snack for a kids birthday party!

Don't worry about the butter thing. Margarine was perfectly fine back in the day but it was like really old school. Like your parents level boomer old school. Just the difference between a middle class kids party vs a working class kids party. It just has to be spread peanut butter thick (which you got right). Also, Wonderbread is perfect. It has to be the cheapest most generic fluffy white bread you can get. You did Australia proud. Consider yourselves redeemed :)
@twotravelingkings4 жыл бұрын
It was so tasty! Glad we redeemed ourselves :)

I’m Aussie and I’ve never heard of this butter requirement over margarine. Butter is harder to spread and can destroy the bread unless you let it soften out of the refrigerator. My mum always just used margarine and although I could never be certain I’m confident all the fairy bread I ate at my friend’s parties used margarine as well. Butter may well be an improvement though if you have the patience to let it soften.

You two are just so very cute. We did see that video and laughed at the rookie mistake. Of course you needed some guidance on fairy bread. I wouldn’t eat that any which way. Next time you are in Australia - you need a Greek deli to get your tzatziki dip. Never buy that kind of thing from Aldi. Yuck! There are more Greeks in Australia than anywhere else aside from Greece so it will be every bit as good as what you had there. I’d say come to Melbourne for a tour but we are exiled from the rest of the country at the moment. Hopefully not. Forever.

@@twotravelingkings There is more to Australia than the east coast. There's a whole 3 states over the border.

Nice redemption video sorry to tell you this it you should cut the crusts off and cut it in quarters as it’s a children’s party delicacy. But good effort and thanks for your humility which is so genuine. ❤️❤️❤️

Perah is lying, crust on is the only way to have it! Only way I ever had it growing up as a kid!

Nails FoLunch I only ever had Fairy Bread with the crusts cut off and that’s not lying it’s from personal experience amongst family and friends. And I’m extremely happy that your experience was with the crusts left intact. ❤️❤️❤️✔️✔️🌹🌹

No! Leave the crusts on. Either halves or quarters are fine.

lol you used toast that's hilarious. I don't even want to know what that would taste like. you got your redemption, esp when you poured the 100's and 1000's and pressed them in. good job!

Now you just have to teach any kids you may have (or those of others) about eating cheesels off your fingers, and about dipping cocktail frankfurts in tomato sauce (aka ketchup) and you got yourself an aussie kids birthday party (albeit a retro, allergen filled one 😉). Good job - hoping you genuinely enjoyed it, and didn't just politely pretend to like it so you didn't offend us defensive Aussies any further....lol.

Not sure if we can find Cheezels here in the US but our nieces and nephews might enjoy fairy bread! Once we knew how to make it, it tasted much better ☺️ thanks for watching!

When making heaps of fairy bread for a kids party. Use the plate technique. If only making a slice or two sprinkle.
