The jeepney reminded us so much of the songthaew we rode in Chiang Mai, such a fun way to get around! We are mind-blown to learn of how densely populated the Philippines is. Comparing it to California was just 🤯 Also, so cool to learn about your family history. That is something Adam has wanted to do for so long!

Thanks guys 🙌 It's such a fun way to get around and you get to meet all of the wonderful locals 💛 And the population density vs. area left us speechless. It sounds like an impossible statistic. And that is awesome to hear of Adam's interest. It has been so fun and informative for us to go through this process 👨👩👧👦🌳

The Spanish culture and architecture is scattered across the archipelago not only in Manila :) Our main language, Filipino a.k.a Tagalog is composed of 30% Spanish and 70% native language. Spanish was a national language until it was abolished in the 70s. We were colonized by Spain for 333 years, this was much longer than some of the latin American countries. Intramuros was the seat of government, education, and business during colonial times. Thank you for visiting the Philippines! You are welcome here, mabuhay!!

Every country has a bad part of town. So please be very extra careful where you venture out in the Philippines 😇! I'm a filipino enjoying my retirement here in my country the Philippines who worked and lived in Texas, USA for 35 years! As a person, i know unfortunate situations happens. So my advice is if possible is to know where safe and secured places are. Just like in america, for example .. if i was to go to New York like in harlem, bronx or L.A, California places like Skid Row etc .. i could get robbed, car jacked or shot 😳! So please be very aware and careful. Places where it's safe to hangout from my experience here in the Philippines are .. BGC, Makati, Eastwood, Ayala and other safe places 😇👍❤️! Avoid ragged out places if all possible 😇! Welcome to the Philippines and enjoy your stay and the peoples friendliness and hospitality and thank you for choosing the Philippines for your adventure❤️👍!

YOu may also wanna check out the Manila-American cemetery in BGC, Taguig for some beautiful, historical site. Hi guys welcome to the Philippines. Some comments on your experiences: 1) Max fried chicken - the best version is the "spring" type (young) fried chicken although the regular version u got is 2nd best. Normally the chicken is best served whole, not sliced except when requested. 2) Banana catsup (ketchup) - originally was made from bananas with added red food coloring and other spices but now-a-days they're just made with certain kinds of vegetable/fruit substitute ingredients although the taste has remained the same. 3) The chicken dipping sauce Pinoys love to concoct for the chicken is by mixing more or less, banana ketchup, soy/worcestershire liquid seasoning, pepper powder and hot sauce to your liking. Pinoys love their food extra sweet, salty and sometimes oily so don't be surprised when u encounter this as you order other Pinoy food. Enjoy.
