I love this! Working with AST testing for years, I'm happy to see some promising developments in reducing turn around time! One of our biggest complaints from clinicians is how long the test takes and the short stability period of microbiology specimens. I would be interested to see if this could be implemented in the physician offices that usually send to reference labs. With the quick TAT, you could prescribe patients the most effective antibiotics same day.

First author of the paper here. 😀This is certainly the project goal, deploying this in primary care settings to reduce AMR burden and improve surveillance - we're trying to get there as soon as we can!
