Thanks for recording this. I got to the end of my x-carve assembly and thought "well when do I install the z probe?!". I appreciate you taking the time to show how to set it up and explain it more than just "do this, do this, do this" etc. ;)

Once you probe it, and you move the router to the left corner for example for a XY zero, can you lower and raise the router or does it need to stay at the height it was at after the probing? I ask because I’ve done this, and it seems like my machine is carving in the air. Thanks!

If you’re using Vcarve/aspire, you need make sure you have an allowance set up in your roughing pass. If not, it will carve basically air when you cut the finish.

Thanks for trying to help. But you need to help yourself and drastically reduce the length of your presentation. This vid should (at the most) have been about 2 minutes long. Just stick to: 1. Do this. 2. Do this. 3. Do this etc.

Kevin Mooney this wasn’t a video designed to go on KZbin. It was recorded for a group I’m in on FB and people had questions about using the probe. I put it on YT in case others needed to know and could search on YT for it. Thanks for the insight though. I’ll make sure I keep them shorter going forward.
