I used to have offsets on my 13 sierra ext cab and for anyone that wants to do this keep in mind big tires and offsets are murder on suspension parts also too they do drop the mileage of your truck as well because of increased (wider) stance it looks cool but it's kinda pointless unless your mudding every day or very often I'd save your money for other things

Excellent explanation. The best out there. I just ordered 33” tires and 18” wheels with +1 offset so the tires should sit about flush with the body. So I was told. I have a 2.5 “ level kit. Wish me luck. If need be I will do a 4” lift. Might do anyway for a more aggressive stance. Btw I went with Nitto Grappers. Their hybrid model. Read good things about smooth ride and low noise. And they look aggressive with lots of side tread. Once again we shall see.

Nice video. I could be wrong but I thing not mentioned, depending on the wheel width the tire will “poke” more or less. Your first wheel was 9 inches wide w/ 20 et. The other two wheels were 8.5 inches wide. So a 20 et on a 9 inch wide wheel will poke out further than a 8.5 inch with the same offset. Thanks

Okay I heard from local 4x4 shop mechanic that the more negative offset produces more strain on steering and lug studs. Positive offset reduces it. What do you think about that?
@AmericanTrucksChevyGMC5 жыл бұрын
That is correct in most cases. When you push a wheel further out from the center of the truck it definitely can increase strain on your ball joints, front suspension, and steering components, so modify with that in mind. A little bit of negative offset or adding a 1.5" wheel spacer to factory wheels is not going to be enough to blow out a lug stud within a couple thousand miles though. -Zach
