That was awesome. Looks like you have the dome car all for yourself. Big like👍

Did the trip to Glennwood Springs and back 4 times. Twice with the Rio Grande when It was called the winter Ski Train and twice with Amtrak. Once in the winter and the rest in the fall. Amtrak with two Dinning cars serving fresh Rainbow trout were my favorite trips. I f you paid for a roomette you got free meals at the time. Rio Grand would let me video through open vestibule doors. One trip on Amtrak they would one they would not open the doors.. At least the Winter train had dome cars which was a lot of fun as was the Parlor car.

Unfortantly I never got around to riding the ski train. Looked like a fun train.

Your videos never disappoint! Thanks Tom. I remember seeing those old hoppers for the windbreak in Model Railroading magazine 30 years ago.

Not sure who is painting those cars but that is quite a walk from the parking down by the highway.

Great video! Were you the only one riding on that one car? Seems like you had it to yourself. SR

No this was a training trip. Had quite a few people on board. That was one of our spare cars in case another car has a problem.

Great ride!🚂 Surprised there was no one in the dome car. Was it dead heading or were there passengers? Looking forward to continuation. Gracias

This was a pre season test trip. All the mechanics, managers, quite a few guests, and the hosts and cooks were traveling with us that day. Plenty of amazing scenery to come in future videos.

Is this outside area where you are filming available to all passengers? Or did you have special permission?
@travelingtom923 Жыл бұрын
That is open to all passengers. Some people spend most of their trip in the vestibules so they can get picutres with no glass glare.
