I made these today for the first time and they were spectacular! Easy and delicious, what a great combination! I would love to see a whole series of recipes of the best the ocean has to offer. What to do with the bounty of the sea, from shrimp, clams, oysters, different kinds of fish, lobster to seaweed and different methods to cook and preserve it all. Smoking, ceviche, sushi, beach cooking, frying, steaming, grilling, or whatever ways you have found are the best ways to enjoy what the ocean has to offer.

Fantastic recipe!! So delicious. Made this last night and my family raved about it. I don’t like onion so instead of scallions I used dill on the burgers and I skipped the shallots for the tartar sauce and added 1 tsp of dijon and one tsp of chipotle aioli to it and it gave it the right amount of kick for our liking. My family already asked to make this again. So so good and easy

These Shrimp Burgers are the BEST recipe online! Just like Shrimp Shack! There’s NO bread or eggs in the shrimp. I prefer my own tarter sauce tho. Hellmans Mayo, lime juice, chipped onions or (dried onion rehydrated in the lime juice) and a bit of parsley. ❤️❤️❤️

Right from watching this: it's legit! I can tell. I did a similar thing with a filled squid: don't shred all of the shrimp. You want some bites of shrimp in the filling!

@cynthianewton68914 жыл бұрын
@@alanvonau278 100 percent agree. We enjoyed these, but I think I would hold off on the shallots in the tartar sauce (perhaps a bit if Vidella onion?) and I would make the sauce a day ahead to meld the flavors. Otherwise --delish! Stay well and safe!
@alanvonau2784 жыл бұрын
@@cynthianewton6891 If I wanted mild onion flavor in the tartar sauce, I would add a little finely chopped fresh chives. An alternative would be to add finely chopped fresh tarragon to give the sauce a Pernod-like (anise-flavored) overtone -- totally different from onion flavor -- that goes very well with shellfish. You too, please stay healthy and well!
@cynthianewton68914 жыл бұрын
@@alanvonau278 Alan, AWESOME idea! I have chives growing everywhere, as I let them bloom for the bees and butterflies and they self seed -- and tarragon, too! Perfectomundo, as an Argentianian friend likes to say! Will try it next time. Gotta say, even though I have to go to work Mon-Fri (on a limited basis, as I live in PA), I have been cooking things I would never have tried before. Want to get back to bread baking but have flour (can't get WWheat flour for love nor money!) -- and the 3 packs of yeast I have in my fridge date from 2012. Will try proofing one tomorrow to see if it is still viable (can't buy yeast either) -- also looking into sourdough starter. I baked bread several times a week for years, then gradually gave it up. Sloth! Hope you are having some cooking adventures -- stay home, stay safe!

If you want the best tartar sauce you have ever eaten, go to amazon or ebay & order frisch's tartar sauce, it is not a sweet sauce, you will hunt me down & thank me. If you want the 2nd best other, store bought, use heinz mayo based as it is not sweet either. I do not like sweet tartar sauce for seafood or anything. If you like sweet tartar sauce folks these 2 products are not for you, or what you want.

This is a good recipe, but is another rerun, plus, i would add some finely diced fresh chives & 1/3 teaspoon of garlic powder to this amount for some savory flavor. I would stay away from the granulated garlic as the shrimp burger cooks so quick the granulated garlic may not break down & might be gritty. Also i'm not a test kitchen & can't afford to try that, lol.

You know what would go really well with those is a little sichuan pepper and garlic to give it a little indo-chinese kick.

Isn't it easier to just use bread crumbs instead of pulverizing the hardest to find and more expensive panko?
@rollercoaster245 жыл бұрын
Prof Chaos Where you from? I find panko everywhere now and it’s like 2 bucks per box. But yeah they basically made it into normal breadcrumbs now :/
@tycoinreno5 жыл бұрын
@@rollercoaster24 I mostly agree - at this point I just keep panko in my kitchen exclusively, and convert them into regular breadcrumbs whenever I need non-panko. Partially because I don't use breadcrumbs often enough to justify keeping two kinds.
