Phones have gotten so expensive now, so I’m not even sure if $800 would cover a full replacement for most new phones. Lol I hope next month someone on KZbin actually gives it a try first to be the guinea pig. You cannot beat Apple Care with their next day shipping for replacement devices. I hope the service is similar in quality.

This makes the Amex Business Platinum a solid option for at least the next few months on cell phone bills - that card has an Amex offer right now earning 5x points per dollar on wireless.

Are they really going to repair it? Or send you a "similar " replacement phone? I've been burned by cell phone "insurance" in the past.

Just to clarify, if they cover to $800 per claim.. That means if you bought a $1,200 phone - you will still need to pay for the difference of $400 + the $50?
@featherpony3 жыл бұрын
Close. You'd cover the $400 but not the $50. $1,200 - $50 = $1,150. $1,150 reduced to $800.
@AlanHuiRealty3 жыл бұрын
@@featherpony Got it, thank you. That's a bummer.. It's a nice touch but doesn't work too well with higher end phones.
@myklepr823 жыл бұрын
Still, it’s a good chunk covered by Amex, I don’t mind paying that vs paying the full price.
@featherpony3 жыл бұрын
@@AlanHuiRealty But that $1,200 phone would depreciate in a year. They pay based on the cost of replacing the exact same phone.

I’ve seen people sign up for autopay to get the cheaper rate but pay with the card before the autopay pulls. That way you get both the lower rate and the credit card protections

How does this compare to chase ink preferred’s? I feel like this is even better due to lower deductible
@rene.s.s3 жыл бұрын
Lower deductible and higher coverage per device. But lower total, $1600/yr vs $1800/yr and you only get 1 point for the spend vs 3 with CIP. But I’d go with AmEx personally. Chase Flex is also an option with slightly worse terms IIRC

If you have a solid credit history go for the top tier cards since AF is waived for active duty military.

For a lost phone you normally have to go get a police report to show where you lost it etc... so it really opens you up to prosecution if you get found out, that deters most people
