Personally I don’t care about full power, and I don’t care about the range as much. I look for the best descending bike period and if it happens to have the motor I want, great. Notice how he is riding at least twice as far as other videos. He looks like a kid again! In the past that move would suck quite a bit of energy out of him on other e-bikes. On this bike even if the front hits the ground he is right back up again charging the mountain. The bike is obviously brilliant. If DJI offers a strong competitive warranty the bikes will sell fast. Same kind of evolution in battery weight. The low weight of the complete bike is due to Amflow making extremely light frame and using carbon rims etc gaining maximum impact in the media with ”next level” power/weight ratio. Yet to load it with heavy cargo to see how it affects motor power, but as much I like the whole thing, I find a few parts quite clunky. The battery and its mount feel like a handmade by a local mechanic 😅 the plastic parts aren't really aligning for a quality product. That Amflow charging port you showed seems quite a bit of step up, it's not just the power to weight ratio of this bike. I'm really really excited for the future of ebikes and I also hope these brands get forced by the EU to align some of their components like chargers and their ports, batteries, etc. There has been enough time for these major brands to mature and become confident and the market seems to be still growing.

These are the problems for me: In the end of 2018 (6 years !!) came the Levo S-works with 90nm motor, 700wh battery, 20kg in tubeless setup, so no quantum leap for me with the Amflow. I never want to use the turbo mode when i ride in the hills, because it draws the battery very fast, so i go up slow in eco or trail mode, i do not want to wheelie up the hill. It's like with 700bhp electric cars, you have fun once or twice with the acceleration, but for daily driving you are using like 30-50bhp... Back to the weight: it has carbon rims, EXO and EXO+ tires and other lightweight parts. For a bike the only different to other ebikes are the motor-battery-frame. You can not change these things. And these are lighter like 1-2 kilos to other carbon high power bike, so not that much. But i really like the real fast charger.

This video hipes the bike too much. In other videos it is said, that the motor can rattle, and in high power mode it has whining noise (but not as much as Bosch or Shimano). Thanks for the review. So I watched it, then I took my 2 year old turbo levo out for a 26 mile trail ride and here's what I thought. 1. I don't need any more power. Today was a recovery day for me so I kept my HR under 120 and climbed over 2400 feet and had plenty of power. 2. My turbo's range is fine since I can ride at nearly full power for 2.5 hours. That's all I need. And 3. the bike handles fantastic even at 53 pounds. There was one section where I had to lift the bike through a rock garden where I would appreciate a lighter bike. But the point is that I don't need the additional power of the Amflow PL even climbing rocky technical sections. I'm not convinced the performance improvements are as significant as you claim, at least not for my needs.

I can get 5000 ft climbing and 30 miles with my current setup. Never timed that max range (only hit it once), but did 4000 ft and 16 miles in 2 hours yesterday and still had 1/3 battery left. To those claiming this is an ad... Well, creating content isn't free. Like other channels, EMBN needs revenue, and manufacturers need visibility and communication. It's clear to me that EMBN has contracts (partnerships, call them what you will) with various manufacturers. I assume EMBN has negotiated annual agreements with DJI (and other manufacturers). This is a win-win for both. There must be a plan with a precise schedule and a set number of videos, which DJI compensates financially. In return, EMBN benefits from information, trips, and bike tests from DJI, which form the basis for producing the videos. These videos then attract viewers, securing the business. Is the content objective, fair, and honest? I believe it is. EMBN needs to build trust with viewers, and providing inaccurate information would be destructive. Now, as always, it's all about communication. You highlight the good points and not the others. So, there will be more videos about this DJI bike at the most beneficial timing for DJI. This isn't bad at all, and I'm curious to watch them.

If being fastest up the hill was so important, then we'd all currently be riding Rocky Mountain ebikes. Yet RM isn't a particularly big player. So even though DJI has a well-earned reputation, I think it's going to take some considerable time for their motor to become established - unless perhaps they can partner with an established bike brand.

I am riding a RM, it’s great… But honestly, most emtb’s are amazing these days. Given an hour or so to set any bike up for my preferences I think I’d enjoy any bike just as much.

I like the built in security and gps... Is this still considered Class 1 emtb? Great bike, love it, availability?

Are any other brands going to use the DJI motor, or is it an AmFlow exclusive?

Why no gearBox option? I don't know if i'm gonna purchase another bike without a gearbox motor? Your thoughts?

Sounds good from the review. I see the light weight eMTB almost merging with full size with this bike. The problem is since its announcement we still don't know the price point - will this be something that only those with deep pockets can afford? will the boost mode be neutered in some markets (like here in Australia where we seem not to be trusted with out own common sense)

The Amflow PL Carbon Pro comes in at a jaw-dropping £8,999/ AU$13,999 (approx. $11,742), while the base model, the Amflow PL Carbon, will set you back £6,999/ AU$9,399 (approx. $9,134)

It's actually £5999 for the base in the UK

I have a nukeproof megawatt and I haven't found a climb I can't do yet and my motor powers me up climbs, it all goes on how hard you can pedal the motor and your fitness, I'd love to challenge them strava times, as for technical uphill I've been looking for something to compete in in the uk. Is there any races going?

Glad to see more e-bike motor competition. Although, I am not sure how I feel about e-bikes developing more and more power as I fail to see the reason, at least for myself. My Yeti 160E at 85nm is insane overkill for me (me at 220lbs kitted up), I spend 90% of my time in a slightly boosted eco mode at just over 40nm saving trail mode (which I reduced to 65nm) for short super steep sections and I never feel the need to use boost. It feels so artificial as the power gets higher and not how I personally want to mountain bike. If I want something with mohr power, there are real dirt bikes for that. But hopefully this all leads to much lighter, more efficient systems that rival the power of what is on my 160E and crush it on range.

Dji did it again! As in the uav business they blew out the rest of the brands, from the toy 'till the pro models. The charger shows it, compare it to the clonky nonsense blocks ( Bosch, eFit), no straight out wires and a well placed conn on the bike. If they get rid of the chain/deraillr, i sell my Rapcon/pinion.

From now on all "light" e-mtbs between 18.5 - 20.5kg are obsolete (with 150-160mm travel), who should buy less power and a smaller battery for the same price, since you can adapt the DJI motor to all needs and also run it with less power, but a way larger range because of the bigger battery then..? + It's quieter than most of them and the controller and display is way better than the competitors and you got a fast charger. Of course it comes down to the reliability of the motor, but hopefully DJI has done some proper testing the last years

shame the battey isn't removable meaning you can't carry another for mega rides but what a machine :)

👍How light would this interesting motor be if they make it in a 50Nm version🤔 This is now the most interesting full power Emtb😋 The charge port is Neat, but still in the wrong position, near the most dirty and wet place on the bike😵💫. Yamaha moro have the charge port on the right place😉
