It's an Awsome package, I did a small test ride a few days ago at a local shop (Edit: in Germany) and the owner did the evening before ride our local trail park, he was positively impressed and so was I, can't wait to get my amflow 😉, if it's not your only bike as a hard hitter (lucky to have a Spindrift) then rocking the trails down and up is a sure thing on the Amflow. I am also keen on seeing how well it can do a long tour, nobody has really done an endurance test. With Bosch Gen 4 I could do about 95km and 1200+m of height, guess the Amflow will beat that which would be Awsome.

I'm 210lbs it's noticeable to a point I hold back alot on it, it really does need what cube do and use an alloy rear triangle on this bike! I have a new cube aswell as this the cube is faster because just thrash it the amflow need be careful them stays don't snap and they will! Also should have really had 38s on it to help with front end flex this is what's next for mine but again don't want to make it not flex enough that it also fractures the headtube it's abit of a headache for heavier riders it's mainly tested with Chinese dudes light as feather so just something to keep in mind! Not worth the price tag though this i have to say something about!

Thank you for actually talking about how the bike actually rides. 95% of vids on this bike is just froth on the motor/electronics forgetting that it's an actual bike that has to perform (MBR at least spoke about it briefly and also mentioned the frame flex). Despite the impressive motor etc, I feel like it makes the same mistakes as other SL eMTBs - their primarily objective is weight and subsequently gives up a lot in that department (e.g. an extra 200-300grams in the frame would have made this bike have a broader appeal.

Awesome review! Thank you. One concern I have as the eBike industry moves forward is how much is too much power/torque? I see more and more trail user conflict as our eBikes get faster, especially uphill. Of course the "throttle" is always in the hands of the user. Personally when I'm riding one of my eBikes i am SUPER EXTRA courteous to other trail users, I hope others do the same!

cannot talk about a dji but I rented a bosch gen4 to know what I wanted or not on an emtb before buying one, 22miles 5813ft 36km 1772m D+ rolling time 3h55 according to strava had 25% of a 750wh battery left mostly on gravel dirt road the toughest part on grass off trail I basically went up ski slopes in autumn in the swiss alps I used eco 0-10% slope tour 10-20% slopes emtb 20% or more and never used turbo if it was too steep for emtb I pushed using walk assist my toughts at the end of the day were that I would not buy a bike you cannot tune the modes to your usage, eco helped slightly not enough (just did 3280ft 1000m on muscular it felt to me it didn't quite compensate the bike weight but it was a heavy alu bike 26kgs) tour helped way too much it tried to go too fast while I was pedaling at my usual cadence oversensitive acceleration pickup which drained the battery for no reason, emtb was fine but already started slipping 1-2x even with a 2.6" 27.5 tire (mullet bike) with massive knobs "more power" is absolutely not something I wanted as I had tire slip going up slopes I was hugging the bike not to flip backwards what annoyed me was the walk assist was trying to go too fast for me pushing up a 100% slope something Bosch tweaked in the 2025 motor fyi

Thanks for this review. Power is nothing in control and Bosch may have had the right approach with their 5th generation and not pushed their motor. In EU the continous output is limited to 250W anyway. So as long as you are not smashing the boost-mode nonstop, it just averages out like any other full power e-bike. Just like a car with 500hp, that uses about 40 of it in everyday driving scenarios.

I wish you tested it in a manner that represents actual use when timing the climb. My climbs are usually 30 minutes and sometimes a couple of hours on bigger mountains so it's unrealistic to think that I'll be pressing and holding the boost button every 30 seconds and that also detracts from the experience. When I'm in the middle of a technical section of the climb, I can't divert my attention to holding the boost button when boost cuts out as I'll be modulating my brakes instead. Unless you're focusing on marketing, any performance tests should be done in a manner that represents realistic riding.

Amflow will have put the bike through all the relevant safety tests. It's rated as cat 4. The size goes up to XXL with a 525mm reach, rider height of up to 6ft 7". I'm pretty sure that there won't be a rider out there under 95kg at this height 🤔 Do they really need an Enduro build when a 150/160mm trail will do most things. Plus this is meant to be a lightweight bike with full power. Just pick your lines more carefully or buy a different bike 🙄 There is simply nothing in this category that stacks up to this. Sure they will probably offer the drive system to other bike manufacturers. Bosch, Brose and Shimano among others will be rightly concerned.

Best review for the Amflow so far well done 😁. I agree with one of the comments about how does it compare for miles/watt hour at the same Nm/power output. This metric would be super useful for you guys to start to quote. The Nm/power output would need to be made the same, as far as possible, between the different motors, and tests would need to be done on the same trails by same rider using the same tyres for all motors, as this would unify the tests as far as possible. From what I have seen this bike is a battery drainer, which TBF is to be expected with the higher motor output. Thats why I would like to see this tested with restricted motor output, to properly compare with Bosch and Brose, to see if it can be as efficient as those motors.

There are articles around that legislation aimed at DJI as a Chinese company is a problem - they will need FCC approval due to over the air tech. I doubt this will be settled until after November Then you need say 10,000 units available for stock to launch - US is such a huge market. The legislation passed on the House is potentially a big problem for DJI generally is what I read

Unlike bosch and shimano it has an encoder ring like an abs ring for motorcycles for speed detection, so im pretty sure you will get aftermarket rings with fewer trigger points to trick the bike into thinking that you are actually going slower than you are. Not that i would advise it, but it would be easily doable. The electric transmission doesn't communicate with the bike anyway, so it has no idea in what gear it is, so it couldn't check for plausible results

I was initially enthusiastic about this engine, but with Bosch I ride in Tour+ mode most of the time anyway and don't feel the need for more power. I'm also afraid that such high power will simply eat up the cassette and drive. We'll see in the long run - I'm waiting for the test.

So don’t put this in the max output mode or reduced the max torque on the middle profile if you want and you’ll get more range and still have a lighter battery than Bosch and get all the great charging technology. I’m failing to see any downside to this platform and I’m betting just as all the manufacturers have jumped onto Bosch this year we will be seeing a bunch jump over to DJI in 2-4 years once DJI is selling the platform and it’s the next model cycle for manufacturers.

Are we going to get a motor versus motor test/review type video? I understand we're trying to review this one bike in nearly a vacuum here but... Awkwardly I think people are most interested in DJI vs new Bosch. As well as versus all other motors technically. And as an anti-bells n whistles guy this motor is almost pushing me away with the screen and app overreach (especially saying you need to update during the review lol). So def want to compare the physical motor vs motor. Not so much apps/settings comparison.
