The role players today are making well over 250k. The all-star/superstar players get paid more. Magic singed a 5 year 2.3 million dollar deal his rookie contract. That is a bit of oversimplification. LeBron is a billionaire becouse his estate right now is worth over 1B bucks, he has earned a lot more till now (life/family expenses, taxes etc.). Just adding contract values to estimate future nba billionaires is not enough as about 40% of that goes into taxes and agent fees.
