It's crazy looking back at Harden during his OKC years to his early Houston years. Completely different person from who he is now. From OKC to the first 2 years in Houston, Harden wanted to be pushed. He was open to coaching and wasn't opposed to being held accountable. He hustled and put much effort on defense. Whereas current Harden has a sense of entitlement to him. Believing that all that was now beneath him because he's a star. Daryl Morey, who helped push start Harden's stardom, happens to play a key role in his downfall. After years of failing on his desperate quest to acquire a star player, like when Morey was willing to give up young players and picks for a past his prime Pau Gasol in the infamous CP3 Lakers trade, so when Morey landed Harden, he was Morey's biggest prize and his proudest achievement. That's why Morey campaign so hard to further pushed Harden's stardom, such as his mvp campaign. Harden couldn't do no wrong in Morey's eyes. Morey coddled Harden, never held Harden accountable and did everything to appeased Harden. Coaches could no longer coach Harden or held him accountable for anything. Harden being out of shape, plays with zero effort, playing selfish basketball and ignoring play calls, tons of careless turnovers, and completely giving up mid way through an elimination game, Morey was always quick to back Harden up and placed the blame elsewhere
@ninjafighte6 Жыл бұрын
You are missing a few things tho. Harden took a paycut, and I am almost 100% certain Morey promised him money on his next contract, and clearly Morey is backing out on that, similiarly to Heat with Wade back in the days. I've never looked at Harden as anything other than a streaky scorer. People will hate on me for that, some people love the guy, but I never have and part of me feels he's overrated and has a major attitude problem. No one gave a shit about Michael Jordan's attitude of "I'm better than everyone else" because...he was and he won his team championships and never choked in the post-season. Harden has that same attitude but he never backs it up outside of the regular season. He's been a no show in the playoffs far too many times. He refuses to buy in to a system of team basketball. Doc Rivers may have his own issues but asking a "superstar" talent to do more without the ball and actually play defense? It's really not a big ask for a guy getting paid near max dollars. Harden is stuck in the mid 2000s with his brand of isolation basketball and he's never going to win a championship as the team's primary scoring option with that style. The guy is such a damn diva and he's been this way his entire career. He just gives off that cry bully vibe. And as a NY Knicks fan, I'm hoping the front office continues to do things right and stay FAR away from James Harden. He's not going to put us into a position to win a championship and it's going to cost far too much for what he'll give us and it's only gonna be short term. The Knicks don't need this drama right now. Keep developing our young talent, and wait for the right players with the right fit that actually want to play for us.

Philly convicted Harden to setup Embiid for one season, he said yes, but didn't embrace it, he can read situations, but he refuses to do so, he said to himself, okay I'm the second option, so don't count on me to win any games, all I'm gonna do is set up Embiid, that's what you wanted right? and by the end of the year got tried of it...he's only happy when the team plays around him...

when you have embiid and maxey on your team it is not that hard to rack up assists. Harden would be a good fit in bucks with Gianni's...one two punch that could win 60+ games. Embiid would be good with holiday and Middleton...role players that could surely compliment him...

Why would the Clippers need a Harden? Knicks need a better smarter PF not a guard. It's Interesting to watch how this Sixers Harden drama will end.

I feel like you’re just saying this for view. Harden took a paycut in promise for a max contract, but when the time came, they didn’t give it to him. Would you want to be on a team like that?
@mikehawk7220 Жыл бұрын
Harden doesn't deserve a max contract. He WAS a great scorer. Now he's an out of shape cry baby who doesn't win

I'm not taking hardens side at all but I do have to say this in the playoffs harden is the sole reason the 76ers won game 1 and also game 5 which put philly in a great position to beat Boston and advance to the ECF! I don't blame harden for that series because he did exactly what he was supposed to do on his side it was embiid who was supposed to win that game 6 and close out the series. its his team right? I watched that entire series and didn't see much from embiid! Personally I think embiid is overrated not because of skill but because of endurance and durability for a full season and playoffs! I personally do not think embiid can last a full season and playoffs and I see him wearing out by the 2nd rd every year and folding! Same story each year! Just my opinion! Oh and as a knick fan I hope we don't ever trade for embiid for these reasons..

There are def 24 players better than Harden right now so I dont know why hes sad hes no longer an All Star
@fernandosousa6074 Жыл бұрын
Harden was always questionable and I honestly don’t know why people thought he could win anything Now days you have to be an elite professional to win and he thinks he is too good and just wants money
