Stapleton was a member of this Bluegrass group for several years. Incidentally, Adele covered this song on her "21" album. There are several Steeldrivers songs that I really like: Can You Run, Where Rainbows Never Die, & Blue Side Of The Mountain. Stapleton was at one time in a rock band, spent much of his musical career writing songs (he still writes much of what he records), several of which were #1 songs for other country artists. Pretty multi-talented guy.

Chris was best in the Steeldrivers. this is a classic example of a bluegrass trope called the "murder ballad". Most of the time the singer will slowly lead you in to the realization that he killed his woman.

Deference between a fiddle and violin is the style its played.

In the north it's called a violin, in the South it's a fiddle

A violin has strings, a fiddle has straangs.. lol essentially they are the same, difference is music genre. For a guy who can tear up the fiddle, check out Doug Kershaw, diggy liggy lo.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the solo albums Chris has released, but his Steeldrivers Era will always be the best! 😌

A violin and a fiddle is the same instrument. The bridge is shifted when you play it like a fiddle. The bridge is the the piece that lifts the string above the opening. And of course the style.
