Amiga Scanplus AGA , VGA VS chinesium scart to hdmi

Thanks for the video. I was considering the Scanplus AGA for my second A1200. I already have the Indivision AGA MK2 in one of my A1200s and also Indivision ECS V1 and V2 in my A500/A600s. CRTs are out of the question for me. I have BenQ BL 702As and BL 912 that works perfect with Amigas native 15KHz signal but also works nice with my scandoublers/flickerfixers. I didn't find many good videos showing how the Scanplus AGA works with LCDs or CRTs for that matter. But this video has convinced me to not spend money on the Scanplus AGA. Thanks again

The Indivision AGA MK3 is great for the A1200. Use the VGA and like Live-modus on it.

The biggest pet peeve I have with buying new modern stuff for Amiga is the total lack of supplied documentation. I am an old fart I like a piece of paper that explains how to install what you just bought. I do own four Indivision boards which I like obviously but I am also happy using a VGA Adaptor as well.

I bought a secondhand Mk2 Indivision AGA for my 1200, and frankly it's fab (if a little hot). The Indivision stuff is really excellent. Also - they've just released Version 3 of P96, like today.

So I've just bought an A1200 after years of not owning one. And I've bought an rgb to scart cable then the same or similar scart to HDMI converter. So your saying that's better than the scan doubler and vga ? Just for clarification I think that's what you said. Bit rusty will have to lean all my CLI again etc. Kicking myself I had 2 a500s one boxed. A boxed brand new cd32 still wrapped in plastic and I sold them all for less than $1000 6 years ago. I just paid $1700 Aussie for an A1200 which has been recapped. After throwing one in the bin when it broke back in 1999 lolol. And about probably 300 Amiga magazines in mint condition. The things we thew away years ago worth so much now.

the aga scan plus is nice, the icomp mk3 is better, the cheap chinesium scart box does the job on a budget. and it looks ok. icomp.de indivision mk3 is the best one for the 1200 with the aga scan plus next (inexpensive) and the scart/upscaler third (cheapest)

You do not need laced modes in WB if scandoubler supports DblPAL or DblNTSC.

This looks like an acceptable solution for people who just want to play low res games I guess. I have been using a Scart plug with a LCD TV which blew a capacitor this year (and I can't solder) so I need to use a new TV with my A1200 now and no new TVs have Scart, so I think I'll go for that Chinesium box since I use Workbench a lot, and always in an interlaced mode.

Its a scan doubler, you still need a multi sync monitor to use the amiga native resolutions right?

my Dell u2410-F does 15hz and much more but you can use a regular amiga monitor, however scandoubled means you get a 31khz vga compatible signal out of it

If you dont mind a few extra cables the cheapo solution is the way to go as you can use it on any model. And even things that are not even related to Commodore

Funnily enough I’ve got one of those chinesium adapters but haven’t tried it. After watching your informative video will give it a go 👍🏻. Thanks to you and Doug (10marc channel) now got the same model Dell Monitor you guys use. Very happy with it. 👍🏻 works great with the vampire 2 and ECS V2 Indivision on my A600. Always had Indivision adapters. Only gripe is in the mk2 and mk2 CR is the type of monitor you use and the display it outputs for Whdload games. Mk1 Indivision with just the VGA output worked straight out of the box but you can get a bit of break up in the display on the right hand side.

I have a rgb to vga adapter, I wonder if I bought a vga to scart then plugged it into that Chinese scart to HDMI would that work? Having a hard time finding a db23 to scart at all or for decent price.

I suspect being meant for a crt is why it looks the way it does. then again my old arxon(compserv) scandoubler in the a4000 looks pretty good on my lcd's and it was designed for Crts. Go figure.

@@a4000t Complaining that the hammer you bought is crap because it doesn't tighten the nut and bolt you have is pretty silly. You buy the tool that does the job you need it for. Scandoublers and flicker fixers are two different things. This is also designed for a CRT monitor, but is being tested on an LCD... which brings us back to my first point.

Chris, why don't you just admit that you made a mistake by not reading the advert properly and ended up ordering the wrong thing? You wanted an apple but bought an orange.
