Crochet along with me to make yourself a fat squishy oversized amigurumi bumble bee - super simple and easy enough for even a beginner to make. Are you ready to make your chubby (chub-BEE 😂 ) buzzy friend? This chonky bee has been made famous by TikTok! If you want to make a giant plush version, follow the pattern, all you need change is the yarn and your hook size. If the video speed is too fast, you can slow it down! 😀 See this video on exactly how: • How to Adjust the Spee...

🔥 Frequently Asked Questions:
Do you have a left handed version of this video? If you are left handed, you can convert ANY video on KZbin yourself! Simply go to www.mirrorthev... and follow the instructions to mirror flip any video to convert to left handed!
How much yarn will I need? This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!
How many squares do I need for a blanket? That all depends on the size of the square you are making and how big you want your finished blanket to be! I always advise making one square first then measuring the size of it. From there you can work out how many squares you will need to get the blanket size you want 😀
Do you have the written pattern? Yes! I have written patterns to accompany my video tutorials on my website here: www.hookedbyro... The written pattern is generally released a week or so after the video tutorial to ensure there are no errors in the video itself and to make amendments in the written version if any are found. All the written patterns are FREE to access on my website
How can I print the pattern from your website? Do you have downloadable PDF's? Not at this time no. This may change in the future but for now, I only provide the written pattern directly on my website.
Can you remake this video so it is slower? If the video speed is too fast, you can slow it down! 😀 See this video on exactly how: • How to Adjust the Spee...
Why do you use American stitch terminology? I learnt using USA stitch terms, long before I even knew there was a difference between UK & US terminology! American terms are my "first language" so to speak. If you need a conversion chart, I have one here! www.hookedbyro...

Got a question? Check this first! 👇 📌 *What is an increase?* An increase is simply two single crochet stitches into the same place :-) 📌 *HELP I CAN'T CROCHET!* If you haven't crocheted before I have videos for the individual stitches themselves so you can master them before leaping into amigurimi 😀👉 kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKfQkKRvituZmpo 📌 *How do I make a giant bee like the one on TikTok?* Follow this pattern; the only difference is the yarn thickness! If you want a big bee, use fatter yarn and a larger hook. No need to add extra stitches or double the pattern. 📌 *You are going TOO FAST!* You can slow the speed of the video yourself - this video shows you how 😀👉 kzbin.info/www/bejne/gnq1iqqhoK6Sars 📌 *I'M STRUGGLING, IT'S A MESS!* Don't panic. Crochet takes time and practice to master. Your first few items will look a bit crappy but THAT'S OK! Your stitches and ami projects will drastically improve very quickly if you practice! You got this :-) 📌 *Do you have any more amigurumi videos?* Yes I do! I have a playlist of my videos here: kzbin.info/aero/PLP0pPGx0kI89wo37UkF-oPWtwmubjryvi

I have never crocheted before but I know I NEED to make this bee Update: I made my mom drive me to Michael's and we got the supplies Update: I realized that I got the fluffy yarn instead of the thin kind. It's impossible to see the stitches Update: I'm too lazy to buy new yarn so I'm using the fluffy kind. It's impossible to pull the magic circle closed with the fluffy yarn so I had to start over and make the circle super small Update: I only have black buttons for the eyes. The mouth and cheeks are crooked. Update: I switched colors and the black fluffy yarn is even harder to see than the yellow. I'm literally just poking my hook into random places and hoping it's right. *contemplating weather to give up or not* Update: I must have missed a few stitches because the bee is getting skinnier and skinnier Update: I stuffed the bee with some stuffing from a broken pillow Update: I have finished the bee body and the bee looks like a literal cone. The head is huge and the body stops at a point at the end. Update: My sister thought the bee was hilarious and laughed at me T_T Update: The white fluffy yarn I'm using to sew the wings is shedding like crazy. My whole room is covered in white fluffs Update: One wing is bigger than the other and I don't know why *CRY Update: I finished the bee and gave it to my mom. SHE said it was CUTE! LOL Update: Mother has the bee on her desk. She seems to like it. I'm gonna try to make it again 😄 Update (1-13):I made it again with fluffy yarn and it came out really cute! It's a a little long so I might change the pattern a bit. Update (2-12): I made the bee again using my altered pattern and it's SO CUTE! I wish I could add a picture :( Update (3-12): I started a knitting and crochet club at my school and it's a hit! I'm pretty decent at crocheting now. This bee was my very first project!

I learned it's ok to... Mess up Be slow Start over If you're stressed just take a break. You can always come back later and continue. If you mess up you can always take it apart and try again. Or. You can figure out what's wrong and go back to fix it. You can always practice without trying to make anything and take it apart when you feel confident doing it again!

Did I know how to crochet prior to this video? Absolutely not. Did I know how to read a crochet pattern? Negative. Did I assume my knitting abilities could possibly transfer over? Foolishly yes. Did any of these things stop me from buying crochet supplies, going through my yarn stash and learning how to make this? Nothing stopped my persistence. You’re an amazing teacher! Your videos are amazing quality, you move just slow enough to follow along but quick enough so watchers aren’t bored to tears trying to follow along. I made one bumblebee and now going to make two more for my kid’s teachers.

Robin, thank you for this tutorial. I have been crocheting for 60 years now. This week I will be teaching my grandkids to crochet so I asked them to look for a project they want to make & they decided on your bumblebee!! This is a great first project!! They will learn several stitches (sc, hdc, dc, inv dec, and inc stitches ). They will also learn to attach safety eyes, sew embellishments using yarn & needle, sew on wings, when to strategically stuff the bumblebee as it is made, and the finished project will be a fun adorable bumblebee they will love and be proud of! Great project for a beginner! Thank you for a great pattern & tutorial!!

Hi! This was the first thing I ever crocheted. I remember playing back and searching up all the stitches, but I did it. A wonky bee was born. Now, two years later I’ve made lots of garment, amigurumis etc both knit and crochet and published my own patterns. It has become my life, so I just wanted to say thank you for introducing me to this wonderful craft and community.

This is amazing! I've never crocheted before in my life, saw this tutorial and went out and bought a crochet hook and yarn 3 days ago. Just finished this adorable fat bumble bee this morning and he's perfect! A bit bigger than yours (I used super chunky yarn recommended for a 9mm hook, but used a 7mm, so he's about the size of my head...) But I love him! All you instructions were so clear and easy to follow, and I'm so happy I've found a new hobby!

I just wanted to say thank you so very much for sharing this. Our school has a hornet as a mascot and when looking for this year's gift for some of our cheerleaders I came across this video. I made a couple of modifications, but it's thanks to how easy you made this look that I had the courage to actually make 60 bees as gifts for a group of girls from ages 4-12. The girls and coaches love them and I am quick to tell them it's all thanks to your video!

I do not normally post on videos. I just wanted to say THANK YOU. I have been practicing crocheting for a while and decided to try to make a bee (I still have issues with crocheting in squares so hope to watch and learn from more of your videos). Other videos say beginner friendly and as soon as I get done with the first part moving onto the next my counts always mess up. They used the slip stitch method and zero explanation on where you are starting your count on. I appreciate you showing and reminding to do the stitch marker as that helped ALOT on keeping my stitch count accurate so I do not have a lopsided bee. Your video was very clear and easy to follow. I can not wait to watch your other videos!!! ♥

I love this tutorial so much! It’s fun and really easy to follow for someone who is just starting out. The only hiccup I had was with the eyes, I wasn’t able to find doll eyes in any shop in my area, so if anyone else has this trouble I recommend that you crochet your own by adding six single crochets in a magic ring, fasten it and then sew it onto your bee. I hope this helps and ty again for this tutorial.

I would suggest also getting/ using some sort of stitch marker, it makes things so much easier!! Especially for beginners like me :)

Raffy Morgan also just make sure your counting the stitches at the beginning and make sure you have number that is supposed to be in the round :) that’s where stitch markers come in handy, so you don’t lose we’re your round ended and where your new round of stitches begin :)
