The song they are singing is "This World Is Not My Home": (This world is not my home) I'm just a-passing through My treasures are laid up Somewhere beyond the blue. The angels beckon me From heaven's open door And I can't feel at home In this world anymore. Oh Lord, you know I have no friend like you If heaven's not my home Then Lord what will I do. The angels beckon me From heaven's open door And I can't feel at home In this world anymore. (I have a loving mother Just up in Gloryland And I don't expect to stop Until I shake her hand.) (She's waiting now for me In heaven's open door And I can't feel at home In this world anymore.) (Oh Lord, you know I have no friend like you If heaven's not my home Then Lord what will I do.) (The angels beckon me From heaven's open door And I can't feel at home In this world anymore.) Just over in Gloryland We'll live eternally The saints on every hand Are shouting victory. Their songs of sweetest praise Drift back from heaven's shore And I can't feel at home In this world anymore. Oh Lord, you know I have no friend like you If heaven's not my home Then Lord what will I do. The angels beckon me From heaven's open door And I can't feel at home In this world anymore.

Just beautiful!!! 💜💙💜 Reminds me of the Mennonite singers who sang at Mayo Clinic when my Dad was there. My mom n I stayed at the Mennonite home n they'd have singings once a wk there n it was SO pretty to listen to. People would come n crowd the halls to hear them n my dad loved it n looked forward to them coming each wk. Wish I could have had them sing at his funeral. A year later just before my Mom died, I asked a Mennonite friend if she could ask some to come sing for her n they were there n filled her room within less than a hr. Was a touching sendoff for her. They both appreciated the gift of song so much n probably why we all grew up singing too. THANK YOU for sharing this!! 💗💐🙋

For those doubting if these are Amish. YES, All but 3 are Amish. This was in Berlin Ohio. They sang this song for my Dad at his funeral. This was a practice run the night before. And yes they knew I was recording them. Out of respect for the Amish , I did not tape them during the actual funeral

I just ran across this on here and sorry for your loss. I was noticing the lights...are they electric? I live in Lancaster PA and the old order Amish use propane for lighting, except some stores. The singing was beautiful, so strong.

This isn’t Amish-Mennonite, this is Mennonite. You can tell by the electric lights, and the English hymns! Also, the mixed seating, the fact that they don’t mind photos and videos, and the fact they have a meeting house.

For Christians a funeral is both a sad and happy event. It is sad because we will miss the good person in our life. It is happy because he or she has gone home to be with Lord Jesus as we all will be one day. We were put on this earth to do our mission and after to die but many do not realize it.

Lister Yoder, I thank God upon every remembrance of you and those who know that humility and Love will overcome Pride any day. To doubters showing up below, believe me! If a Yoder, Mast, Graybiel, Kraybill or even an Eisenhower-- says something to you, Know that they may be Amish, Mennonite, River Brethren, Hutterite, or of a variety of small groups --Again, KNOW THIS! They're very UN-likely to lie or misrepresent A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G... period And I emphatically say this as an "Englischer"...

That is the salvation message of the gospels (before Jesus died) but, before Jesus ascended, he sent his followers to Jerusalem to receive the Holy Ghost on the day of Pentecost. When the Holy Ghost was poured out in Acts 2, this was the beginning of the church age. Peter was given the keys to the kingdom by Jesus. When Peter was preaching on the day of Pentecost and the crowd asked him, what must we do to be saved? Peter answered them in Acts 2:38 - Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, for the promise is unto you and to your children and to them that are afar off. The Holy Ghost is for is today.

This is not Amish singing...the song was written in the mid 50's by a southern gospel writer and would not be sung my either old or new order Amish. Second it is sung in English. Amish sing only in German. Third, videos would not be allowed. This is Old order Mennonite. The Mennonite are more liberal with their singing. I was brought up around both sects of Amish and Mennonite.

I was raised in an Amish Commune. New order Amish speak in English but when it comes to worship of any kind, it is German only. No Bishop would allow this, it is considered sacrilege.
@HotCooking
@HotCooking 5 жыл бұрын
@@lindamiller4880 there are some other traits that tell me that this is Mennonite and not Amish. The style of bonnet that are worn by the women and the fact that the men have shaved faces. Old and New order Amish do not wear white bonnets and men do not shave. There are other issues. The fact that there is a camera present tells me that this is not old or new order Amish but Mennonite.
