Awesome!!!!! This was a lot of fun. You. and Ben are always great together but this was even better than usual. How does Ben know Star Wars and the characters, is it from places he's worked. Do the more traditional farmers and such also know about these things and if so, how? Thanks again gentlemen. God bless. 😅😂🤣

Heheh thanks - well most Amish people get some exposure to pop culture, some more than others. They are around English people, see things on the gas station TV when they go in to buy a coffee, etc But it will vary, a farmer in a really conservative community is less likely to know who Yoda is 😁

I actually do remember seeing an Amish buggy taking a corner so fast as the light was fading, that I saw sparks flying off the steel wheel rims. There was also a joke about what do you hear after an Amish drive-by shooting. Before the shooting, it was clip, clop, clip, clop. Bang, bang!!! Clipety-clop, clipetty clop, frantically! Best told tapping your fingernails on a table.

I LOVE this!! I've been on my farm for 35 years and many Amish have moved in the community. I've gone to welcome each new family and now my best friends are my Amish neighbors. I drive them everywhere! Once in a conversation I referred to an English person as a "nut job". She listened intently and said, "nut job"????? Now they know a great deal of "English slang" Lol.

I have the best Amish/Englisher joke. “You know the thing is about the English is that we( the Amish) could technically pick up our homes and move just a few miles away, and the English would just think their GPS is wrong.”

the Amish chainsaw isn’t too far off of belt-driven saws, but you’re not going to use one of those to cut trees down: just sawing them into planks and lumber 😎

Horses used to have backs too weak to ride, our ancestors had to breed stronger backs into them. You might have gotten a horse with a weak back.

How does an Amish know about starwars? Aren't movies & such against their religion.
@dragondancer18149 ай бұрын
They probably hear about it if they have _Englisch_ coworkers, or sometimes they’ll go to the movies while they’re on _rumschpringe._ It all depends on how liberal or conservative their church district’s _Ordnung_ is.
@briskettacos7 ай бұрын
It's part of popular culture, and there's plenty of Star Wars material in print.
