Story 3; while I agree that the manager should have done something sooner, ultimately it probably wouldn't have helped. I've worked in customer service long enough to see that our society is so deep into the belief that "the customer is always right" and "the customer comes first" that it's honestly a miracle that anyone still applies for customer service jobs. I've seen people argue just to make a scene because they KNOW they'll get something for it. Nothing you did was wrong and the only reason I can think of why your manager didn't get involved is because they knew it wouldn't have done anything different. This is sadly the society that we live in now and the only way it's gonna get any better is when the people in charge of businesses stop enforcing the behavior. Just be thankful that you have a manager that doesn't blow up in your face over that. The Customer is NOT ALWAYS RIGHT!!

Story 1: Too bad the Karen didnt get kicked off of the cruise ship for this stunt.... or thrown overboard. The moment she was drunkenly saying not to check her cabin, i think we all had a feeling thats where it was. Too bad the cops didnt come onto the ship and got her removed. On another note, i can totally see Phil's frustration towards the Karen here, but not towards the OP. Sounds like Phil just snapped at the prospect of going to jail/court, all on the grounds of "he said/she said". Story 2: OP needs to either find a solo holiday.... or just be solo. The gf here is very selfish here. I get that different things appeal to certain people, but she's not being reasonable at all. She can't even try a 50/50 holiday... part relax, part tour around. Everything is all about her and she doesn't seem to care what the OP wants or likes at all. I'd really be taking a good look at the relationship here, because who knows how else she reacts to every day things. Story 3: Don't like the prices? Don't go there. People just want to get as much as possible for as little a possible, and while i see the need for a deal, the way these people were acting was just wrong and pretty much trying to scam the place. Good thing the OP didn't have to deal with grief from the boss, and the OP handled everything just fine. People dont seem to realize, or care, about costs of running a food business. Story 4: This husband really should be an ex-husband here. Period. He's got no intention of being faithful to the OP here.

Last story: From experience with someone that keeps initiating adult contact with people that aren't his partner and without said partner's permission, that husband is not going to change. He was caught, said he'd change, and then was caught again and repeated his story of changing. He's going to keep cheating and keep promising to change because he's going to keep thinking he can get away with it, and all he needs to do is say sorry when he gets caught. Every time he's given any amount of forgiveness, he'll take that as permission and keep doing it

For the vacation story, I feel as though the OP is lying. It seems like she compromised the first time because wanted it his way and he thought he was going to have his way again. I mean, he planned for 3 different cities but can't compromise for changing one of those to a beach. Apparently a beach vacation is expensive, some how. I believe his recollection of her saying that the city vacation was better than a boring beach one was her being sarcastic.He states that they both agreed on doing the city vacation but she clearly didn't. I feel like she isn't budging on the matter because he got way last time. I say he is an unreliable narrator just like Ted Mosby was when describing the kids' Uncle Barney.

I think the two waiters should honestly be happy they got any apology at all out of the woman. Sure, what she did was awful, but I feel like everyone is ignoring the fact that she was drunk, which we all know can really alter a person. She was clearly humiliated, which no true Karen ever is, and I kinda don't blame her for not coming back and saying sorry in person considering the embarrassment and the excessive anger of the one waiter. I don't feel like she deserves to be yelled at by an employee (one who may well let his anger get out of hand and lose himself his own job) and it seems like a toxic and bizarre concept for a customer to come back to be verbally assaulted by someone with no authority or relationship to her, especially considering the matter was already resolved in their favor and no laws were broken. The second waiter made it all worse by ramping things up in a situation where he really should have known that the footage would prove him innocent. Embarrassment is enough punishment for this, unless she really is just as awful when not drunk, which sounds like she wasn't.
