In the days of Nintendo 64 and Playstation, I had a copy of Castlevania 64: Legacy of Darkness. I let my cousin borrow it and his brother stole it and sold it for drugs. I ended up spending 20 years looking for another copy of that game. Found one last year at a retro game swap. So yeah, don't let people borrow your games especially ones you really don't want going 'missing'.

Story 1: Forget just the restraining order... i would've definitely pressed charges on him. If the uncle broke in like that with a crowbar, he could've very easily assaulted the OP with it had there been any kind of serious confrontation. People really need to stop pulling the "family" card/excuse. It doesn't give you a pass or 'get out of jail free card' when you do stuff like this. Story 2: Sounds like this place is very shady.... need to find a new job during all of this. One of the many reasons why i avoid chain/franchise restaurants. Story 3: This is really a tough one here, but in the end, i say that OP needs to look out for #1 here. They have the chance to do much better in their life, especially career-wise, but the bf doesn't seem to care at all. I get that long-distance relationships are very rough, but he should let the OP get the new job and try to move with her. Story 4: This is another tough one. I can understand the gf's frustrations with the OP here, but her attitude towards it all is a bit mixed. She could be a bit more supportive and perhaps show him some things that he doesn't know. Also, there's not a lot wrong with living at home, especially with how expensive rents and other costs are. As for the OP here, he really needs a major wake-up call and reality check here. It's one thing to help around the house and all that, but to not know how to do things like paying bills or knowing prices of groceries, etc and all that can be seen as a bit immature here. I think the OP and the gf should work together on a lot of this stuff, rather then how it's currently being handled. Story 5: Another case of a bad, micromanaging boss ruining things at a job. I get the need to save a dollar or two, but stuff like that is always just ridiculous. Good on the OP for shipping that stuff at the highest possible prices. Serves them right for the poor treatment, micromanaging, and withholding the serverance until they got it.

The story number 3 really hited me since here in Chile it's not so easy to start to be really independent and my schedule at uni doesn't allow for a decent job and still found ways to not only earn money, but to pay my phone and medical bills, pay for my food and give some to my mom who I still live with at 22 and I feel like I might start to be independent late but this dude doesn't even know how much groceries cost?! Hell my family tell that to my mom since she gives me her card (or make my sister pay) and never check the bill so she doesn't even know the price of bread, and we laugh at that shit

If OP is in the US at age 26, not knowing how much groceries are, bless his heart. He just sounds like he likes living with his parents when he can. His gf wants a man who isn't dependent on their parents because she doesn't want to be with someone she will have to raise on top of taking care of herself. She wants someone she can depend on, which isn't a huge ask, considering she was thrown out to fend for herself at age 18. A 26 year old who still has his mom make doctor's appointments for him? Come on.

@@frederickwillis4924 He applied to 1 (ONE) apartment on zillow and gave up then and there when he didn't hear anything from the listing. He isn't trying hard enough. It just looks like BF has been coasting through life since dropping out 7 years ago and letting his parents do all the adult stuff for him to now him wanting to jump from being dependent to his parent to being dependent to his gf. What GF is asking is reasonable. Live independently so you learn basic life skills before living together. Without paying anything and living at home for free, he should have a decent savings by now. Finding an apartment shouldn't be a chore since money is not an issue if he's serious about being independent. His GF saw through him and he felt called out. He doesn't need a supportive GF. He needs a GF that will baby him. He is 26 and he still gets his mom to set up doctor appointments for him. Even when he had an option to move out since he's making decent money, he chose to stay at home.

Geeze uncle got lucky because those systems got to be up in the felony theft on the collectors value. Had practically all the big systems out at the time Magnavox Odyssey, Intellivision,Colecovision with the Atari 2600 adapter ( ah yes the wild and wooly days of somewhat hazy IP rules) Atari 5200 and 7800. Family was having a moving sale in 87 but I had to work that Saturday. And get home to find the Odyssey and the 7800 and the games on one of the sale tables and absolutely lose my shyte,grab them off the table and return them to the storage cabinet in my room that I found empty. Considering my parents have never and would never just decide to help themselves to rather expensive items that only left my younger brother so with blood in my eyes and flame shooting from my ears I went back out,found my brother who hadn't picked up on my finding my consoles being sold I might be slightly perturbed and was apparently so sure in whatever excuse he'd thought up would protect him hadn't beat feet the moment I came home. I grabbed him and none too gently explained that I was about to beat the crap out of him. Turned out he wanted money to act the big guy at the bars that night. He didn't have his bar hopping trip that night as I explained that upon threat of my beating the absolute shyte out of him every last dime he had in his pocket was mine not only the money from my consoles and games but whatever he had on him as a penalty for the theft. About 300 bucks from the games and about 60 bucks he had on him to start. Still have the Odyssey and the 7800 though the controllers no longer function and me and bro are on much better terms these days. Oh and geeze Crazy Taxi thanks for making me feel very old.

Story with OP that lives at home at 26: I think they're both in the right to an extent. I was responsible for paying rent and utilities, pay for my own food and transportation and phone, I couldnt afford any kind of insurance, I had to babysit, and do around 60%-70% of chores at 16 when i had tk live witb my brother, and I'd been pretty babied by my parents until then so I had no idea how to do any of this, how to budget or plan my meals, I was thrown right in the deep end. OP needs to start paying rent and for their own things, but I don't learning to do that by moving out is going to a good idea. Its a lot of stress and they're going to screw up and make their partner feel even worse about them, but learning at home they have a safety net if its needed and they'll probably learn a lot better and not overcompensate by cutting out things they enjoy, which is what I did and what I bet the parnter did too

Me and my old friend were arguing and he bring up my cat and said to me ‘I’m going to skin your dead cat and use it as a Halloween country’ Halloween was ages away and I retaliated saying how about 8 buy you a card that says I love you dad (my old friends dad died) was I a jerk

For story 3: the boyfriend isnt wrong.. why not break up? She could be gone for 4yrs, shes busy, and around new people.. why should be be waiting around in another state?? . ... the normal thing would be to break up for that time and if the interest is still there years later; then they could get back together once shes settled...

Okay, at 26 you should be a bit more independent, which is funny because I'm 26 too and still live at home, but I have slightly different circumstances Because I'm in a wheelchair and I'm trying to find my apartment when you guys are in a wheelchair

I disagree with the long distance conclussion though 95 out of an 100 times it doesnt work. still if thats the best for op take the job but the boyfriend isnt at fault at all either. if my girlfriend moved away that far I wouldnt hold her back but the relationship would be over.

story 4 i fell the narrator isnt really taking ops Fellings in sure he may need to grow up more but not all people going to be perfect like that not all people have the money and things to live on their own op needs help i think it more should it to understand op and try and help him more not bash him for how his life is

Story 4 op said he has a decent paying job, so he can afford living on his own. He applied to 1 (ONE) apartment off of zillow and gave up after they didn't reply (I doubt it). He just sounds like he's not even trying. He wants to keep living in his comfortable bubble where everyone else is doing the adult stuff for him for free. OP's gf, on the other hand, lives independently. If they just jump in and live together without OP learning the basics in life, OP's gf will just take his mother's role and be the one setting up, and paying bills, will be doing groceries for both of them and setting doctors' appointments for him. OP is being a child at age 26 when he sounds like he had the means to move out all this time.

Story 3 Man can't get any snoo snoo if they go long distance and to him that's more important than his partners career
@reeno1357
@reeno1357 Жыл бұрын
Why do you as a man want a girlfriend ? Do you want her to do career ? No, you as a man want a girlfriend to take care of you, your household, and your kids that could result from the relationship. Thats why men choose to live the family life. Thats called traditionally raised. And i think you cant blame a man that wants a traditionally raised woman as his relationship partner, you cant blame a man if he leaves if his girlfriend changes up the entire relationship dynamic. You cant tell a man to like long distance relationships if thats not an option for him. You as a woman have to accept that and move on if you cant accept his prefferences. But you dont judge the man for his prefferences, thats just dumb. This man has other priorities than her and she better get it together and make a decision between career or family cause she wont keep both. And in this whole story, nobody is at fault to get that out of the way, thats nonsense.
@christopherhutchinson8336
@christopherhutchinson8336 Жыл бұрын
@reeno1357 that's the problem with traditional families, yes you choose and your partner can choose to do it like that if you both agree to it buts not 1920 anymore man nowadays both the man woman can choose to work and start a family at the same time if they agree to it. If you can't come to a group decision on how you want to live then yes you shouldn't be together because that just breeds toxicity. Also it is his right to leave her because he doesn't want to do a long distance relationship but if he is just leaving her because he can't have sex with her for a while then he is what you call a piece of shit, it is his choice on what he wants to do.

The laws need to change to institute absolutely draconian punishments in situations where theft of games, consoles, computers, or anything where time would be lost from lost game saves. They shouldn't just be punishing the value of the item itself but the value of the time - look at how much the victim makes per hour, how much the thief makes per hour, or $20 an hour, and use the highest figure out of those three. If someone had 1,000 hours played on a save, that should be $20,000 due to the victim - EVEN IF THEY GET THE THING BACK WITH THE SAVE INTACT. The mere CHANCE that someone would lose their progress should be smacked down as if they had. If someone steals a console, and all of the saves are on the console, this should apply to the punisment for every save for every game on the console - EVEN IF THERE ARE BACKUPS ELSEWHERE OF THAT DATA. If laws were on the books the way I'd want them, uncle would be losing his house in a civil judgment here.

Story 4: While (as the narrator says) she has a point, she definitely sounds a bit judgy about it. It's true that OP probably could stand to learn these things, but the girlfriend isn't actively teaching him--more like trying to push him into the water before he's learned to swim. Which is what she had to go through, but while some people can figure out how to swim in time to save themselves, others just drown...so, not the best method for general use. If you ask me, they both need to kinda meet each other halfway, with the girlfriend actively showing how it's done, and the OP paying attention and following along. If she wants OP to find another place to live, she needs to help him with the process of finding that place.
