He didn't have her consent and just completely violated her space doing that, and she was probably extremely uncomfortable after that... BUT he knows what he did wasn't okay and was ready to take full accountability for it (he even said it wasn't the alcohol because he wasn't that drunk) and as long as she's willing to move on and forgive him then no.. There's no reason for everyone else to go as far as to full on exile him as their friend.

I had a similar story to story #4 but it was on Facebook and I was sober, basically one day I decided to befriend a buddy's giftfriend. Now I should state me and him are old high school friends and he knows my personality pretty much as he and our friends would have nominated me for a pride award that some students would get at the end of the year. One day his girl posted a picture and I commented she was very beautiful and I guess she got weirded out by it and took my friend and he understood where my point was. Now I should say that I would never go after a friend's girlfriend or partner, that's not me in the slightest and I respect people boundaries and such. I did apologize and we agreed to one day meet up and I get to meet his girl, because after high school we hardly saw each other except online and other than that I have not done anything like that since and we are still buddies to this day

Story 1: You may be pro or anti mask, but everyone should abide to a business' rules (wearing mask, dress code, allowing pets, etc), if you don't like said rules, give your money to other business. Story 2: It may be a cultural thing, maybe OP suffers from some kind of agoraphobia, lots of people pay form housekeeping, cleaning and food-cooking, he just uses his family, it really depends on the parents situation, the man's living style, etc. Now, he being rude is non-acceptable. Story 3: That woman is nuts. Offering to "pay" for food to then not wanting said food to be eaten, to get aggressive around the children. It may be going to some rough stuff or just be a nasty person. Story 4: The Best Friend is not a one at all, you don't spend hours without introducing your GF to your Besty, and it was a kiss on the cheek as a celebration (a stupid move). They didn't hook up or anything like that, the so called best friend should take a breath, understand that to OP the girls did not have any relationship with him, but it seems the relationship between op and the best friend wasn't really fully friendly yo begin with. Story 5: That's a silly mistake when you consider the girl didn't showed much appreciation until some time later, and the op low self-esteem. Plus, not being verse on how some apps works is more a funny thing than a bad one. If the girl don't take the time to hear and understand op's situation then she wasn't the right for him.

In regard to the pets thing it is very common for businesses to refuse guide dogs even though that is discrimination. In essential places doctors notes for exemption should be valid, I used one because I need to get my prescriptions and food and occasionally can't wear a mask because I have panic attacks and sensory overload. But I test regularly as an extra measure to protect others. Idk what non disabled people think of that though

Story 1: here’s the thing about private businesses. They have a right to be selective about their customers. Now I’m not saying they have a right to be discriminatory, but they do have a right to enforce certain rules that the government otherwise cannot. The mask mandate is a perfect example. A medical exemption is really all verbal and like they said, it really only keeps the police from fining you. In a private business, they do have a right to kick you out if you do not follow the rules. So despite this Karen saying she had a right to shop there, really it’s more of a privilege and if you can’t follow the store’s rules, you lose that privilege

Story 3: The grandma seems to be showing early signs of dementia... My grandma has dementia as well, so I learn a thing or two about it. People with dementia will think everyone is out to get them, everything within their reach is "their stuffs", and at a later stage, they will start stashing foods or items in the house in their closet or hide it somewhere in the house, and when they forgot they had hidden it/where they hid the items, they will blame someone for stealing "their stuff" (mind you, the item might not even belong to them in the first place), they will also love to shout and make noise (like banging the doors, hitting stuffs with their walking sticks, etc.). They might not be like this before dementia, but having dementia messes up a part of their brain, so they cannot think rationally anymore. A lot of patience and love will need to be shown towards them. I think OP really should bring her MIL for a medical check up to find signs of early dementia.... It cannot be reversed, but there are therapies and medication out there that can slow down the worsening process.

Story 1 : My friend had that kind of people as well at her work, and I mean with exemption, not a Karen. But they were kind and gave in a list and since they were very few, some coworkers helped out getting the groceries for them, get sorted, told how much they needed to pay, and they were waiting for it outside, and grateful to be served. Helped out as well a couple of times, there's how I got to know. Of course, not taking the right product of the shelves happened, or price being too high did happen and they asked to change or refund this or that, but as mentioned there were few, and regular customers as well, so it was hard to say no. But to sue, or to be demanding like that, that's unheard of. Really she should go to a therapy, and learn how to live in the society.

Story one: with the mask situation, I hated it. I hated every single moment of wearing a maskbut I understood why we had to do it but for my job, If we weren't around anybody, we were allowed to pull our mask down. If we were within 6 feet of each other, we were supposed to wear up. It wasn't a big deal but however with me. I have a heart condition so I got wavered just a little bit more but I never took it for granted. The government does not issue out any sort of waiver paperwork and I can attest to that. You can get a doctor's note that can give you restrictions for the mask situation but this Karen needs to grow and know the world doesn't revolve around her

Story 2: it feels like we're only getting one side of this story. Its the op's right to break things off with this guy if she really has these issues, but i cant trust in good faith that her issues run as deep as she's making it out to be. As others in the comments stated, in a lot of cultures its normal to continue living with family for a long time. I wouldn't dismiss story 1 without knowing what kind of store it was. There are valid exemptions. I occasionally am unable to wear a mask because of autism and anxiety but when I am able I do. If the store was a general store for food or pharmaceutical I would be upset that discrimination for someone who is doing essential shopping would be an issue during the height of the pandemic. I also make sure to test at least weekly to prevent spread as I know the risks of not wearing a mask

And that's the reason why he didn't introduce her to op as his girlfriend, he couldn't, could he. She wasn't. If they would have know each other longer than that, op would have know about her, wouldn't he. And about this friend of op's. If he is ready to cut op out of his life because of that, misunderstanding, then he is not op's friend. *Story 2- 40 year old child* So, to the OP, he is still a child at 40 years old. The reason he's not leaving & feels like he has an obligation to get back for no reason is because he's not having to use the good money he makes, to support himself. Instead he's using it to live frivolously & doesn't want to fork out money to change that. Story 4: First of all I have to say I spend one year working in USA and I see is a very different country that the one I came from and even if I love the time I spend there they seem like sometimes too cold whit the people they love like parents, close family. I’m from Spain if you are introduced to someone new you always gave them 2 kisses in the cheek, is not something I really like but I do it. The true is that in my country a kiss in the cheek will never cause something like this because is not such a big deal, is not a deal at all. Story 4: i'm from Argentina, and the friend is not so friend at all. He is one of the "pseudo-friends" we call here and he is either for brag the gf or just not say anything and expect some problems to just making his macho impression and i for experience know this doesn't go well. In this case the other "friends" doesn't help either at all too. I once got this but in my case i got annoyed because it was clear the girl was trying to hit on me all the time, despite i fully know who was her bf (a guy who was at the other side talking with other guys). I made some small talks but with her and other girl there too. Then she got very closer until the guy appear. I knew what he wanted to do so i stood up and told him: "if you wanna do something, at least focus on your gf instead of babbling with your friends there". My friend separate us and by the look, the friends were like "oh no! he is at it again". Later on when i went to help my friend with the grill, the guy approach and said he was sorry for that and he always feel like everyone hits on his girl. I took a deep breath, and told him: "Look! 1st of all she isn't my type... not to diminish her ... but it isn't the kind of girl i prefer to be honest and 2nd, she was the one trying to start conversation with me all the time as i only reply to her friend instead when she was the one asking questions ... if Damian intercede is because he knew it i was getting fed up with the situation and not in the mood to deal with other people's bs ... sorry if i had to tell you this, but i don't think she is as much faithful as you think it is and if I'm you, i would sit with her and talk about it". This is the water down version because there is a lot of Argentinian lingo and insults throw in the mix. But for sure i can also vouch the gf of that guy won't be as faithful as he think will be either, if she was this closer with OP. Story 1: I have no idea where this is, but if you really are exempt from wearing a mask, you'll have a legit official doctors note, not just verbal or a cheap piece of paper. I always laugh when these stupid people threaten to sue when they have no grounds, and when they think that their rights overrule any other rights; "i have a right to shop where i want" "we have the right to refuse service". Good thing that Karen didnt come back. Story 2: I think the OP is only over-reacting.... on his age. There's no shame to be at home at that age for almost any reason really. His attitude, on the other hand, is completely different He really has no excuse for his attitude. Story 3: Just let it go???? Uh, screw that. I'd kick that grandma out. If she just simply said 'please dont touch my food/things' and left it at that, then the grandma would be in the clear, but yelling at them and slamming doors is totally uncalled for and i wouldn't leave the kids alone with her either. Story 4: The friends here are majorly overreacting. This was a simple hug and cheek kiss in celebrating in beer pong... not on the lips or heavy making out or anything. He still shouldn't have done it, regardless of drinking and all that. Also, don't you think the friend should've said something like; 'this is my gf', and the OP wouldn't have gone anywhere near her? I think this whole thing is a massive overreaction and misunderstanding. If the friend/bf to that girl wants to be upset, he has a right to be, but blocking him outright and everyone else being mad is rather unwarranted. Story 5: This is also a case of major overreaction. If i were the OP, i would've made sure that all those profiles were gone before deleting all of those apps... if nothing else, just to make 100% sure that they are gone. Also, why is the girl still looking on those apps? What's her excuse/reason? Old messages? Unlikely. Overall, this is a major derp moment for the OP, but i think he dodged a bullet with this girl if this is how she acts over this.

first story I would never go to that store ever again asside from masks not doing anything at all I cnat wear them. if I do I keep gaggling my gagling reflex is oversensitive its always a pain with the dentist as well and even just brushing my teeth is a pain aecause of it. if a store refuses to give me service due to that I wouldnt wanna go there anyway

When it comes to Masks, I do actually have a really hard time breathing in them. The heat of my own breath lingers on the mask and makes it highly difficult to breathe and I have to make sure I am walking quite slowly and calmly while I wear one... I still wear one in public though, I'd rather that then the virus if I had to pick. Luckily, I don't go out often.

I work on public health, so I have to use it, specially in some places where cases are increasing fast. I have a really hot breath and use glasses, so I can't see at all, thus I had to create a "breathstopper" that I use between my nose and the mask.

Story 2: I think the op is a bit of a jerk in this scenario, honestly speaking as someone that’s looked at the state of the world and how absolutely horrendous things are here in the US with housing prices and rent sky high. I don’t see how it’s so strange for grown children to still be living with their parents combining earnings to take care of bills, buy necessities, and take care of each other isn’t a bad thing, now as for what they say his personality is I can’t defend that because it does sound like as a person he has some growing he needs to do. I don’t really think this relationship is going to last at all since the op is very hung up on him living at home and the parts where they mention how he doesn’t stay over often or says he needs to get back home don’t sit quite right to me. They’ve only been dating year and a half so maybe the guy just isn’t comfortable with that just yet I mean if all this stuff bugs her she could always just discuss it with the him before it all comes crashing down.
