Out of all the battery box builds I’ve seen you’re the only one who has ever mentioned possible damage to the charge controller if the battery isn’t turned on. Thanks for the tip👍

You could try a square bottom pvc stand. There are videos that show you how to make a pvc shooting target holder and they usually have a square bottom. That way you could add weight to the bottom more easily and I'm pretty sure you can mod it to fit a panel in a way that it can move with that style of frame.

That's a great idea and should work perfectly. Thanks!

Short of going to all you links, do you have a ball park figure on what this cost to build? Thanks in advance Never mind.... I saw your parts list 😂 thanks

The noise called music I just had to mute. It drove me mad as a hatter.

Yeah,common problem w u tube videos. Crappy noise does not enhance a video.

Hu, great build. Was wondering how long does a 20W solar panel needs to fully charge a 12V 7Ah battery?
@korbano3 жыл бұрын
12V*7Ah=84Wh so 4.2 hours

Enough to power a small device AND charge the battery for overnight use. I might suggest stepping the battery up to 17ah or 18ah with a 25 or 30 watt panel, so you could power a device 24/7/365, assuming you live between the tropics of cancer and capricorn or near.

Excellent. I must be the hundredth monkey. I recently figured out that I could build something similar for my kayak. For wet applications like mine, less expensive yet salt water ready components are key. They'll wear out and need to be washed with fresh water regularly.

Like 102. I'm 2 too late to being #100. Neat stuff. Would you help me / us that are electronically challenged to understand how and where to install the dbl pole sngl throw (did I label that correctly?) switch to keep away the ghost drain on the battery?

Why do people call them Solar Generators?🤔
@korbano Жыл бұрын
I’m guessing it’s a marketing term so that people know they can use them as substitutes for gas generators. You’re right though, “solar generator” is definitely not the proper term
